I never see such an ordinary Match Opening Thread in BC forum...even when we played against Kenya...we used to see a much sophisticating and entertaining and worth eye watching Match Opening Thread..yeah it is not important and it does not help to win the match...but it has some pride and thread opener always deserve that pride.

India
Advantage: Batting
Disadvantage: Fast bowlers sorry pie throwers (somebody please kidnap Ashish Nehra)

Bangladesh
Advantage: Spin Bowling, Home ground, Local support.
Disadvantage: Inconsistency

I request Bangladesh batsman to scare the hell out of Nehra , I don't want to see this guy in Indian jersey ever again.

Spot on bro. I'd add "fielding from Nehra and Patel" as major Indian liabilities, and "ShakibTamim-dependency" as our major batting liability alongside guys who block full-tosses and half-volleys and can't rotate the strike with ease.

This Indian Batting line up looks too strong, the BD players better get ready to chase or make near 300 to win this one. One BD batsman must score a century, lets hope someone can do it.

Munaf improved his fielding not great but nothing like the "waste of time" Nehra.
I don't think Zaheer will play the OP match , they might probably want to rest him another week (not recovered till yesterday), this gives the chance to Nehra, india's premium bowler sorry pie thrower.

I don't think batting is a problem for Bangladesh , its the self-belief, even after whitewashing NZ they are not believing in themselves.

If Bangladesh batsman don't score runs of our pie throwers, I am sorry sir I am going to rate your team very low.

@senman: Munaf during the practice matches, especially last night, was appalling on the field. Slow, uncoordinated and positionally clueless, he outNehra-ed Nehra.

Where did you hear that from? Indian bowling line up will be dented with the lack of Praveen Kumar and Zaheer khan.

The pie throwers got Australia bundled out for 170 odd runs, Indian bowlers are very underrated.

if BD batsmen aren't on their feet (even just a little bit), any bowler in the world can look threatening.

Frustrating to see our on fans spreading such stereotypes. We have a pretty decent bowling to compliment our batting lineup. Zaheer, Munaf, Praveen are all good in limited over format. Add Bhajji and Ashwin and you have a very formidable bowling attack.

is it did you see the practice match??, only decent bowling was by spinners

In the first match the newcomer John hasting outbowled our premium bowlers

Praveen is out of the world cup have you heard?? forgot?

Zaheer injured not yet played after injury so bound to be rusty in first match, Munaf and nehra were throwing pies, only decent bowler was sreesanth he too was expensive.

Our strength lies in spin but how many matches do u think we can hide our fast bowlers? They don't bring anything to the team, can't bat , can't field, cant even bowl whats the use??

yes dude you are right we used like 6 spinners in that match, do u think it is possible in the real matches??

When I say pie throwers I am pointing to Nehra and Munaf, man they were so awful

I am ready to apologize if they prove me wrong but i dont see how, our matches will be won by spinners and zaheer,.

Nehra and Munaf are there to provide runs for the opposition.

home ground, local support are disadvantages....it will be a huge pressure for bangladesh to perform good infront of 25-30 thousand or more bangladeshi crowd...it's not a regular series/tournament afterall.

Zaheer and Munaf are in form, and atleast one of them will play. And our strength has always been spin bowling, and we're pretty good at that department. So what if we don't have a lee or steyn? If we're good enough to defend 220 against Australia, I'm happy about our attack.

Shakibrulz,

brother we used lot of spinners in that match Chawla , Ashwin, Bhajji and then part timers

In real match our team setup was always like 7 batsman 1 spinner three seamers

unless they throw out Nehra and somehow bring in another spinner, I dont thinkl any of our matches will be easy.

What if we play against SL? Nehra, Munaf, Sreesanth are liability.

I am not only thinking of this match but going all the way, praveen injury totally out-balanced our team.
