Winter duties: Home series against England (2 Tests) and a tour to the West Indies (2 Tests)

The only Test captain who can currently boast a 100% record, but sadly that's played six, lost six for Mr Mahmud. The team has shown signs of recent improvement under coach Dav Whatmore's guidance and Mahmud still has the chance to make history if he can somehow guide Bangladesh to their maiden Test victory, although holding one's breath until that momentous event is not advised.

Survivability: Anything but a defeat should secure him another year in the job.
