Razzak set to return to int'l cricket
Wed, Mar 11th, 2009 10:15 pm BdST
Dhaka, March 11 (bdnews24.com) – Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak is likely to return to international cricket after being cleared of his suspect bowling action, an unconfirmed source said on Wednesday.

It is understood that the International Cricket Council has yet to tell the Bangladesh Cricket Board officially about the decision.

Razzak underwent a reassessment test at the Australian Institute of Sports on February 23 to correct his bowling action.

The 26-year-old was suspended by the ICC in November after an independent analysis of his bowling action revealed that it exceeded the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under regulations.

BCB cricket operations chairman Enayet Hossain Siraj said, "We hope to get a positive result on Razzak in a couple of days.

"I am not sure whether Razzak has been cleared until ICC let us know," said Siraj. "However, we came to know from an unconfirmed source that he now has no problem with his bowling action."

He shouldn't be selected for the Pak series untill he proves himself like before with the new action. Don't forget he wasnt doing well before this illegal action came up.

This one is from New Age-
Razzak set to get ICC clearance
Staff Correspondent
Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak is all set to get cleared by the International Cricket Council from suspected bowling action, a reliable source in the Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Wednesday.
Razzak is banned from bowling since November after being reported by elite panel umpires Daryl Harper and Ashoka de Silva after a home series against New Zealand in the preceding month.
Australian biomechanics expert mark Portus had confirmed the flaw in his action following an independent analysis. After an intense work with his action under the national team fielding coach Mohammad
Salahuddin, Razzak went to the same expert for a further analysis on December 23.
The BCB was worried about the outcome of the analysis. But sources said national coach Jamie Siddons, who accompanied Razzak in Australia, assured the officials of something positive.
‘Yes, we have heard from an unconfirmed source that Razzak is now clear. But before telling you the final word, we have to hear it from the ICC,’ said Enayet Hossain Siraj, the chairman of the cricket operations committee.
Talking to New Age over phone, Siddons said he is in no position to comment on the issue.
‘I can’t say you anything about it. It’s the ICC who will tell you his present status. I hope the report will come within a day or two,’ said Siddons.
