Angry A comparison you'd love.

Five years ago on the same ground, Australia were restricted to 254 and in reply Bangladesh has scored 142 all out with a "talentless" batting line up. This time, we restricted them again at 254. And what do we score with our "talented" batting line up? Only half of that! I say, bring back the old Bangladesh team. And I want my money back!

they need to be professional than we will see some result and i don't think it will be possible with these current team because they don't have that mindset. They just don't think they are playing for living. It is still a school match for them.

Everyone was saying today that there can be history in the making, thankfully we could achieve that, our lowest total in the history of ODI Cricket.

it was Hannan Sarker the most successful batsman last tour. He lost his space in due course of time and these new kids make up to this. Based on a 5 years old stat u cannot call for discarded players again

It only means that Hannan Sarker was a much much better opener than Tamim Iqbal is right now. (although we're all praising Tamim for his batting at the moment, Tamim Iqbal is actually a nada - a nobody - which I'm expecting everyone will say in a couple of year's time).

Really so

Specially after seeing his today's innings, his fans have to re-evaluate him. He has gone back to his begining days.

Slashing blindly at everything was really painful & frustrating to watch.

Five years back I remember I asked how many runs are BD is targetting against the Aussies to Opi (although he wasn't selected). His reply was 50 - well we managed 142. I just wondered how many runs this team targetted for this match.

Hopefully this new low will be a lesson for coming matches.

The mighty South African team got bowled out recently by England for 83 runs, 9 short of Bangladesh and that was not their lowest score, compare The BD team to the SA team.

I feel sad for these lads, seems that they going downhill under Siddons.

Can we find out how mant ODI caps that team had in then, vs the team that played game 1?

And we should take Ashraful out from the count.

About the SA example, one should consider that for SA it is an accident; for us it is a routine work. So, in stead of finding consolation on other's occasional failures, we should concentrate on our faults and how those can be worked on.

Nazmul's last over demoralized us and pretty much assured (in my mind) an Australian win.

Really? Are you taking about our batting of now or our batting from the past? I'm not sure about Bangladesh's cricket history of the past, but I've started to follow this team closely since 2004. And at almost all the games we've had success in from that time, it seems to me that our bowling was the primary reason for that success.

Our first win against India in 2004, we were all out for 229 but our bowlers were able to get India all out for 214 and win by 15 runs. (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ci/e...tch/64916.html)

In Cardiff in 2005, our bowlers were able to restrict a powerfull Australian batting lineup to 254 runs and gave our batsmen a chance to win the game ,which the batsmen did well. (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ci/e...ch/211364.html)

Even against Sri Lanka in 2006, our bowlers got Sri Lanka all out for 212 and our batsmen were able to get the job done and get a victory. (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ci/e...ch/238169.html)

And we all know what happened in the World Cup. Against India, all of our 5 bowlers (Mash, Rasel, Rafique, Razzak and Sakib) were in great form and great spirits and they tore through India's batting lineup.

Against South Africa, out batsmen did a great job but our bowlers ended the Saffers hope by geting them out at regular intervals to get them out for 184 runs.

And let's also not foget our World Cup game agaisnt England as well where we scored a dissapointing 143 and our bowling still allowed us to challenge England in that game, and lost by a respectable 4 wickets. I remember the commentators saying if we had scored 180+ runs that game, that game was ours to win.

So my point here is that, us Bangladeshi fans get really excited about batting. But since Bangladesh's cricketing history, or at least since 2004, IMO our strong point has always been our bowling. Lately, after Rafique retired, Rasel's injury and Razzak's form deteriorating, I do aggree that our bowling has been poor. But our batting really hasn't been much better, although we have some solid batsmen on our team now. But to to call it "our strength, no matter what you say", I will respectfully disaggree.
