You must try their burrito bowl - it's the burrito fixings in a bowl without the tortilla - so more carb friendly. Yes, it's an American chain that was acquired by MCD, but don't let that put you off. They source their food fresh. Both their steak and machaca bowls/burritos are amazing. Go for a mix of medium and spicy sauce and do pay extra for the guacamole. Great food for amazing price. 4 star.

Brunch:
Bhat (steamed Thai Jasmine rice), beef achari curry seasoned with fish sauce (garnished with cilantro, tomatoes and rice vinegar marinated crunchy onions), and ghauno dal cooked in chicken stock (garnished with tomatoes). Salted Lassi and chilled water to drink, and hot Turtle Fudge brownie with coconut ice cream (from Club Gelato) for desert.
Dinner:
Probably a vegetarian meal from Khana Khazana.

Sohel - how good are the steaks at that place started by the Aussie expats. Would it compare to good restaurant quality back in the States, at least Prime?

Bengal Meats raises, cuts, ages and sells the meat. You gotta cook the steaks yourself, but the meat is properly aged. The aging is at par with the best of what we have back in the States.
Recently the American Club here has been making steaks and burgers from BM, and those are still the best steaks and burgers in town.

According to my doctor, I need to eat better. That to me is eating worse.
My favorite meal? New Work Strip, 2" thick, rare to medium rare, prepared with minimal fussiness - salt/pepper/garlic (perhaps Worcestershire sauce) over a charcoal grill, maybe a side of grilled portobello and some horseradish sauce. Glass of Napa Pinot. San Diego breeze.

Done! BTW, you, Tammy and Zara missed out bigtime when you couldn't do fish curry, bhaurta and rice with me at Dhaka BBQ. That place has shut down and become a part of the owner's "perti peles" in Banglamotor, serving atrocious Chinese food. The cook has moved back to Borishal.

Damn. Anyway - I will be by myself. The women will be going home to Texas for a couple and I needed to protect the home front. But - I can get away for a week and intending to hit Dhaka, hartal or no.
