Default Test in India this year?

Bangladesh would finally be playing a Test match on the Indian soil this year, disclosed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan on Monday.
Hours before catching a flight to Dubai to attend an ICC Executive Board meeting on Wednesday, Hassan revealed that Bangladesh would play a Test this winter, most probably at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Hassan said an agreement with the BCCI to this effect could be signed during the ICC meeting. "We're trying to play a Test match in India this year. To start with, one Test match [is to be played] in India this year. The dates will be given once we go for the ICC meeting in Dubai," Hassan told Mail Today in an interview.
"I have heard that the BCCI has nominated N Srinivasan for this meeting."
India and Bangladesh have played seven Tests since 2000 -- all in Bangladesh.
Hassan hinted that in the coming years the frequency of matches between the neighbours would increase.

Eden Garden will be good venue for Bangladesh vs India.

1 test match, not even 2 just 1. Well I suppose it's a start.

If Papon can deliver on this, and also on getting us 7-8 Tests per year every year, why complain? We haven't yet warranted on performance a whole lot more. Even SL will only play 2 tests in England this summer while India plays 5. We need to spend more time on improving and looking for opportunities, such as this one, instead of just whining.

According to Papon this is a one off Test followed by full series in 2015 (home) and 2016 (in India). So we'll likely play at Kolkata in 15 and 16. Where would the other 16 test be? Kotla? Wankhede? Chimmaswamy? Chennai? Hyderabad?

And how many 1 test match test series are played? Only one I remember is the zim one but that's because they were making their return to test cricket whereas BD has been playing for 14 years.

If one is all we get them great because at least it's a start but BCB should try to get 2.

As for SL well imo they've been treated unfairly for awhile in regards to 2 test match series'.

I think 1 test match series would fit within the Indian team's calender perfectly. Go there, lose inside 3 days and come home. As easy as drinking orange juice i say

We should somehow convince India to let our A team play in the Ranji trophy. That would certainly help upcoming players like Anamul, Taijul, and so on.

I almost forgot that we are a test team after the recent performance.. can't wait to see the captaincy blunders of Mushfiq on the field and Shakib's senseless comments outside the field.

realistically speaking... unless we choke real bad (more likely), this should be a draw. Neither side has a bowling attack worthy of taking 20 wickets and one side has one of the best batting attack while the other has one of the longest batting attack. Add to that, this will probably played in a Indian highway so it wont help the bowlers either. But watch out for some double tons by Kohli-Rahane-Pujara

I doubt they will build a "highway" when India's main weapon of attack is spin (regardless of the squad they decide to play against us. Even their backups are almost similar in quality). This test will be over in three days and we will be lucky if we can push it to the 4th day somehow.

On the contrary India might prepare rank-turners and we'll end up bundled for less than 100.

Ashwin's all-round record at home is far superior to Shakib's. Along with him, they'll pick their most in-form spinners at the time.

In the best case scenario, on a flat track, Tamim and Shakib will score 50s and Mushy and Mominul will score 100s while their batsmen will score double centuries. If its a turner, I foresee their spinners being able to exploit it far better than ours.

Fingers crossed for the latter - and a draw.
