Nasir is a finisher, even when he bats higher up the order, this DPL has shown this.

No one mentioned Mehedi Maruf 127. I don't know why he hasn't got chance national side after the awesome BPL with big hitting. What's the point of having BPL when you keep selecting the legendary Imrul Kayes and few others over a genuine big bitting batsman?! Strange

^^hes 29 and his averages aren't particularly impressive, nor are his strike rates so that's prob why, could get a try in t20s, in ODIs could possibly be tried as a late order hittter maybe? Haven't seen him play.

What age has to do with anything? Misbah made debut at 32-34yesrs of age? Only it's amongst BD fans age seems to a concern when selecting a player. I wonder why. I've seen many say similar stuffs, about other players of being 32 or 33 and how it's too late etc. If they are performing then they are good enough. Great Sachin played on till close to 40! As did many Sri lankan legends! it only seems in BD ppl think 26-32 is too old to debut. I'm in my late 20s jheez I'm a buddha now... lol

it doesn't matter when they perform but one has to ask whether a mid 30 average in one format and averages under 20 is truly performing?

A 29 year old who performs consistently is fine, one who doesn't isn't...I guess you're right age isn't much to do with it, it wasn't my main point. He probably hasn't been picked because he's inconsistent.

Nafees is a class act, can walk into the side right now, and bat at 3.

You make valid point his 50 ov format domestically has not been great in terms of average. Okay, fine. How do you explain leaving Maruf out from the T20 side when all the boom boom destructive batting he did last BPL at the top? Why such double standards by the selectors? No excuses whatsoever, Maruf should've been in the BD T20 side playing the last many t20s BD played in NZ and SL.

I don't know as I said I haven't seen him play but going by his record a t20 average of just 20 and a strike rate of just 116 isn't that great, also he only passed 50 twice out of 28 innings and he generally bats in the top order doesn't he? I do remember him being praised by Kumar sangakkara though and he would've seen him in matches and in the nets so you'd think there's got to be something to this player when he gets praise from a quality bat like Kumar.

What the hell are you talking about? He has just scored a bunch of 50s with no real big score and that too at a SR of 62. No place for players like that in modern day cricket.

I have always assumed that Bangladesh will one day become a side with 11 off-spinning/SLA allrounders kinda like England, looks to be heading that way.

we really need Nasir Hossain back in the main side at all formats

That sounds like a horrendous nightmare.

Liton Das ends the league as the top run scorer with 752 runs from 14 innings at an impressive strike rate of close to 109.

Abu Hider Rony is the leading wicket taker with 35 wickets from 16 matches.

Congrats Gazi Cricketers and Coach Salahuddin on winning the title!!!

Liton, Rony, and A Sunny should be part of our ODI squad next series.

Very well researched and informative article by Isam (Cricinfo).
This brought back so many memories. Felt like I was part of this whole journey.
