Default Are Zimbabwe better than New Zealand???

in ODIs, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference given the results of the past 6 months or so. NZ failed to win a match in BD with a full strength team. ZIM has actually won a match. NZ is struggling against a 2nd string India team 93-5 in the 3rd match being down 2-0 already. ZIM thrashed a 2nd string India, albeit at home. but a thrashing is a thrashing. the only thing in NZ's favor is that they also beat india by 200 runs in Sri Lanka.

ZIm's win against BD was actually more of BD's downfall than Zim's good performance. It would be unfair to have a comparison between ZIm and NZ on the basis of their performance against BD. I personally believe NZ is much better team than Zim. They are just going through bad patch in recent times.

Are New Zealand better than Zimbabwe is a question not much different from are Bangladesh better than Zimbabwe or are Bangladesh better than New Zealand? The answer lies with 'Shakib, the Superman'. If he plays, Bangladesh are better than Zimbabwe and New Zealand. If not, it is the other way round.

I respectfully disagree ... Bangladesh are better than Zimbabwe on any given day and have been better consistently so for the last 5 years now. Shakib or no Shakib.

You are forgetting the fact that NZ was #2 ODI team not so many ODIs ago. atm they are going through a very bad patch and dont be surprised if they somehow manage to go to semis in wc either.

^ They goes to Semis every time, so that doesn't count for anything. :p

Question for us BD is, can we win a series vs a full strength WI?

No, not at all The Kiwis are going through a rough patch, but they will bounce back, i think they are feeling the way BD used to feel.

I would put NZ at par with Zimbabwe right now...

Yesterday NZ bowling looked really ordinary... their pacers arent fast and besides vettori they dont have a quality spinner... because of that yesterday they were just hoping for wickets instead of trying to take them...
NZ without Oram and Bond is really not the same force as they were before...

Underestimate NZ at your own peril. True, they lost 0-4, but they still have more game-changers than Zimbabwe (and as many, if not more, than Bangladesh).

I wouldn't ride on the fact that India team is up 4-0 against them to make any predictions.

they are not in our group in the WC...so we can underestimate them all we want without danger.

and if they do make it out of their group stage beating aussies, pak or srilanka...nobody would underestimate them....
