Wow that's some real nice words for our Shakib from Harsha...
Why Kolkata deserved to win the Trophy
by Harsha Bhogle on 05/31 at 12:49 PM
"So they obviously have a mechanism where they are scouting for the right kind of players in advance. You can either pick players at the upward curve, or you can pick them up at the peak; thereafter, they can only go down. The secret is to select players on the upward curve. They got it right with Kallis and Gambhir. Last year, Yusuf Pathan won them the odd game; this year he still won them one or two games. My only complaint was they didn’t play Shakib Al Hasan enough. He is the king of the slow wicket games as I say. He could be better on other wickets too but on the slow wickets he is the king. The Bangladeshi cricketer knows how to bat on them, how to bowl on them and the fact that if they hadn’t played him, then they would have had Tiwary at 4, Pathan at 5 and the tail would have been too long. With Shakib, they have a player with enormous experience going into a situation like that. And on the big day, you want players who have handled pressure before.
All in all, this edition of the Indian T20 League was the best across all the seasons so far and Kolkata were deserving winners in the end."
Shakib's personal life is his personal business. Those who are making a fuss about the image, has nothing better to do other than gossip on other's personal business. It doesn't matter even if that image was genuine.
But the fact is that the image is 100% fake. Unfortunately, we are easily fooled. The viral status of the image is just intolerable. Saw it in lot of people's status updates within last few days! I had enough.
The image in question was photoshopped pretty nicely. It can easily pass as genuine to untrained eyes. If you have done photoshop effects you should be able to pick up subtle imperfections. Even from a distance you can easily notice that the lighting itself is flawed (compare light source on Shakib's face/body and the girl's face/body). The image has been released at low resolution to hide lot of imperfections.
Sometimes you just need to put things under the lens. Take a look and judge for yourself.

"Winning IPL for KKR is big achievement but he prides more achieving for his own country"
I am so proud of shak for this – can’t express exactly how much (just to put it in perspective, I would like to point out Wasim Akram’s comment “I have also won the 1992 worldcup for Pakistan, but this was something else”, about their magical win in 92!!!!)
“after Sakib retires from cricket he can easily become number one jotishi”
I think it has more to do with his ability to read a match, as well as other team-mates capabilities on a particular situation. If that’s the case, that will be wonderful for bd cricket
“Good to know Shakib has already renewed his contract with KKR.”
I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing... I know that Shakib feels some kind of loyalty to the only Bengali team of the tournament, and understandably so and winning the cup probably strengthened his relationship with other teammates and kkr management. It’s good to see Shakib not being greedy. But on the other hand, what kind of opportunities would Shakib get in kkr next year? There will still be Narine, Kallis, a fast bowler (Lee/another good one) and Mccullum. To be honest, Shakib was lucky this year as both McCullum and Lee were in “not-so-good” forms. I don’t think KKR would have given Shakib as many matches if McCullum and Lee were at their peak form. So, it might have been a better option to stay away from renewing the contract with kKR and go for the auction next year. Some people pointed out the monetary benefits, but I think the more important point about the auction would have been that shakib would have played the most number of matches with the team that is willing to pay the most for him/that values him the most. Will see what happens….

There are no Final in DPL. Team finishes on top of the league table wins it simple.
