Default Will Bangladesh play in any warm up match IN ENGLAND?

It is set that we're to play warm up practice matches against Scotland and Ireland in Scotland and Ireland.

However, will we get chance to play against any of the English counties?

BBC has reported that New Zealand will play a couple of matches against Somerset.

Default No, not as far as I am aware, but they should...

It took me a bit of research to find out. There is a very good Ireland cricket website. According to that, BD plays Ireland on 29 and 30 August in Belfast.

I believe they are playing against Scotland at the end of that week.

This does leave about a week before the first ICC match on the 12th. They should accommodate one or two matches at least.

For me, sadly, I will be in Dhaka when they are in Ireland. And I will be in Ireland when they are in Scotland. But I will surely catch them on the 12th.

Does anyone have the exact itinerary ?

OK, then we have 3 opponents to beat in a row, in 5 games straight - one after another.

I think we will play a couple of warm ups before the Champ Trophy. Taposh's interview/article in bangladesherkhela.com mentions 6 games before the actual match. Since we are playing 2 in Ireland and 2 in Scotland, my guess is we are playing 2 practice matches in England.

No point wasting our energy by playing any more then 3/4 warm up matches. Six warmup (read useless - I haven't found any benefit of any of the warm up matches we have plaed in ur recent tours/tournaments) matches will only increase the chance of injury and fatigue before we play our group matches. I'd rather have them well rested and focused and just play those 3/4 matches to get used to the English conditions.

fwullah, i donot think that bd will be able to win all 4 games against scotland and ireland. bd will crush usa, no doubt. but scotland and ireland r stronger teams than usa and will beat bd in 1 game or both the games.

I agree with Tehsin bhai. 3 to 4 max practice matches are quite enough. Any more we risk injury, fatigue, loss of focus etc. etc.

If they have 1 week in hand before the real match then
playing one or two practice match within that time will be good I think.
Even though a risk of get injured left there, but that could happen in any time. Better we should get more practice before the real match.

Well, I don't know about the number of matches or the timing, but I'm pretty sure that the first 4 matches are slotted in our schedule in Ireland and Scotland to boost our players' confidence.

It is said on a number of occassions that since we play a lot of stronger opponents, with whom we are unable to compete at most times, the confidence of our players are almost nil.

So, those practice matches in Scotland/Ireland are there so that we can compete with our similar standard of teams and thus get a chance to boost our players' confidence.

However, getting injured or fatigue are the side-effects that we have to bear with.

If we do lose in those practice match, confidence is a matter we should deal with then?
If we can not stand in front of Scotland & Ireland, and worry about lose the game as well as confidence,
then we don't have the moral right to participate the champions trophy.
Cant help the thought that we should not go for the practice match because we may lost to them.
At least think positive.

I dont see why we have to play in england. Scotland is directly above england, on the same island. Ireland is a few miles off england conditions will be similar no bhai?
