Question Is this true that fans attacked Shahadat and Nazim's home?

I found this on PakPassion. It was posted on Mushfique's facebook account. Since when his fb account is public?

Captain's plea to fans

"Dear Bangladesh fans, it came to my notice that after the Asia Cup final a fan took his life and another died of shock. The incidents are very sad for us. On behalf of my team, I appeal to all the fans: this is only a game and everyone should take it in that way and enjoy the game. We never want to lose but not always can we win. My team and I would like to pass on our condolences to the families who lost their dear ones. Another unfortunate thing is there have been attacks on the homes of two of our players, Shahadat Hossain and Nazimuddin. I earnestly request our fans to refrain from such activities. No one loses on purpose."

-- Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh cricket captain

Ya I feel really bad for Shahadat and Nazimuddin. These acts are just wrong. Just because they didn't perform well, doesn't mean you have a right to go and attack these players homes.

I guess are the worst of them all? At least the Indians and Pakistanis do these things when their team lose in a real tournament. Wonder what will these fans do if we actually make it to a real WC final.

I saw the thread there and I was surprised. I thought they are just making it up as I didn't read it anywhere else.

And what's wrong if we get news from PP?

There's nothing wrong with it. But why is this only on PP? If this were real news, would it not be everywhere? Like, maybe, BD news?

Great Response and gesture from Mushfiqur Rahim.. it is great to hear that at the end of the day, coming from the mouth of a Professional Cricketer: this is only a game and everyone should take it in that way and enjoy the game.

May Allah grant people some common sense. Ameen! Their families didn't do anything! Why involve innocent people in this...

One of my best friends(He is Bengali too): Hates cricket from the bottom of my heart. He told me that Cricket takes you away from the remembrance of Allah! Cricket creates a lot of trial in our society for Example people killing each other for a World Cup ticket. People dying of heart attacks...I responded my friend, look. I watch cricket only for fun, when it is time for me to pray, I pray...the only things i sacrifice Cricket for is schoolwork ...other than that whenever my parents need me, My family needs me to do errands for them whenever Bangladesh is batting, i stop watching cricket. He replied back to me: yes, that is just you...but the rest of the Bangladeshi society are not sensible cricket fans like you....they take their fanaticism to a different level.

Heart attack understandable but taking your own life? Sorry but am not going to feel any sympathy for that kind of moronic behaviour over a single CRICKET MATCH.

So now we have no respect towards our players as human beings? What's the point on stoning/attacking one's house? Not like that will make them play any better, infact it will just put more pressure on them.

ive already talked about the attack and I know it was disgraceful

But I still dont understand what was that stupid young guy thinking when he sucided? Its the end of his life, if he really was passionate about the team, he wud still support the team no matter what just like us.

Our religion says that sucide is haram, and everyone shouldnt even think of doing it. Unacceptable

i think much of the blame also has to go to media and the fanatics who make losing in cricket out to be national shame and other rubbish like that and act as if losing in cricket is matter of life and death.. this mentality is only in subcontinent.. and also partly because they r not good at other sports except cricket. End of the day its just a sport and source of entertainment.

If it is true that cricketers' or their homes have been attacked it is utterly silly and outrageous. Unfortunately this type of incident takes place in India and Pakistan too.

I am happy to say that in Sri Lanka this does not happen. Even after losing all three games at the Asia Cup and finishing rock bottom, our crickets have come back here and they go about without any problems. They are much respected generally, as players.

This is only a game and though emotions could run high during an Asia Cup final they should not turn sour.

No one has the right to "force" a cricketer not to fail !

They took all the pressure out there and wanted to do they best. Now they should be left in peace.
