Was it the same Babar Azam who reigns in our leagues?

We got quite lucky IMO.

First our top 3 golden boys scored nothing. Lower order just pushed the score somewhat.

We are lucky that we won this game using Mahmadullah and Sarkar as bowlers. Any other side they would have hacked them off especially Sarkar.

Mominul and Sarkar don’t deserve a spot. Nazmul spinner and Shanto back in the team.

^ Also lucky due to Sarfraz's brainless captaincy. He removed his pacers and allowed spinners to bowl, which settled Mushy and Mithun

Not really all that brainless. He was trying to restrict runs. Mash used the same strategy with Mulah-SS. The difference is that it worked for us.

Also PAK made big selection blunders by not picking Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez. Their experience would have been handy.

No matter how talented a team is, a bunch of youngsters should never be sent to play a tournament. Youngsters need guides - which PAK did not have aside from Malik.

Also they made a mistake by not picking a spinner like Yasir Shah. Uncle Inzy, even though was a great player, has been a disaster of a selector for them, just like how Habibul Bashar has been for us. Great players often do not make great selector or coach (look at Walsh).

As for BD, even though the youngsters failed, the seniors guided them, and thus we managed to do well.

^ Agreed to that. Experience mattered in the end for Pakistan. Shoaib Malik saved them the other day against Afghanistan but they needed the likes of Hafeez and Azhar today and also against India.

What a catch by Mashrafee. I think that was a game turning point.

Point made by Harsha Bhogle (one of the best) that in last 4 odi between BD and Pak, BD win all of them.

Those who still think BD win is a fluke should wake up and smell the coffee.
When Afgans do well, ppl say they are an improving side. When BD wins, they say it was a fluke or opponent was weak. Grow up and get used to NOT being the minnow. Get to the wining mindset and squash your inferiority complexity.

British media acknowledges alot of how improved and competitive are as a team. Why wouldnt they, especially after we beat them. Nasser Hossain and Bumble seemed more happy we won after we beat England in Australia. On that day as I was going to work, never have I seen so many people listening to the match on radios.

I have colleagues who are MCC members and they praise the team. When Tamim scored that 100 at the CT against England, everyone got up and started clapping. Especially in the enclosure we were sitting where we were the only Bangladeshi fans, all the white people around us were saying what an improved side we were.

The problem is that Indian and Pakistani media cant accept that we are a Test playing nation. They were never happy with that fact. They are always negative about us. They have this common bias that we dont play better cricket, rather it is their own fault which handed Bangladesh the win.

Anyways I dont give a shyte anymore to what these Bhogles, Razas and S Rajesh think any more. Haters gonna hate innit!

t!

There are sociological and psychological reasons why this issue extends from the cricket world to pretty much any arena where the 3 nationalities work together in a non-western setting

very much so.

Shoaib is in excellent form, and if there is one Pakistani player who doesn't panic, it is him.

I have studied with Indians and Pakistanis and not worked wit them. From my experience Indians (especially Muslims) have been exceptionally nice and friendly. Most of all I am in debted to a small number of Indian friends who treated me like I was a family member to them. Cant say the same for the Pakistanis I have met.

Shohaib in the past has been a thorn to us. That catch by Mashrafee was great as he threw his body and I have not seen as many a great catch like that in the inner circle and he risked his body to take it.

Tamim coming out was a courageous feat but Mash's was as courageous!

Amir was off form anyways. Pakistan management struggled to get their bowling lineup right throughout the tournament but they got it right yesterday and they still lost. Hasan Ali off form did not help their cause. Their bowling was quite good in fact. from the players that were selected, yesterday's team was more or less the Full Strength Pakistan team.

Congratulations to the entire BD team, management, and fans for making it to the finals. The job is not completed.

Especial congratulations to Mushfiq, Mithun, Mauhmudullah, Mashrafe, Mustafiz. (All starting with M) Mominul was the lone M who couldn't perform.

It’s true and disheartening to see people often don’t appreciate our boys’ efforts as much as they deserve and rather jump onto criticism when they fail. But who cares. Hopefully if the boys perform like this and win more games on regular basis it would shut them up
