Default Mithun is a keeper

I really liked how Mithun is playing in this tournament, the only youngster barr Miraz who looks quite comfortable in the national team

Hope to see more of him in the future.

Well after todays innings he seems lesser of the evils like Sarkar and Mominul. I have to change my stance on him

For some reason he reminds me of a bengali Joe Root.

He's not a youngster.

Mosaddek and Shanto needs to get a long run in the top order given how the likes of Liton and Soumya have struggled.

I don't like his batting technique though. Bat comes across the line. And yes, he has done better than Soumya, Liton and Shanto in this tournament, but that's not saying much.

Mithun is 28 years old, not a youngster. Definitely he is a good prospect.

TBH Mithun probably has twice the amount of runs Liton, Shanto, Mominul, Mossadek and SS has combined in this tournament lol

Mithun is ok. And is ahead of Sarkar, Mominul (why we even talking about Mominul he should be near LOI side), and Das. Again that’s not saying much. But Mithun needs to understand he is not Chris Gayle so stop trying to over power it like that, don’t try enforcing big hits like that. Twice now in Asia Cup 2018 he got out similar ways as he tried to some sort of pull on the back foot, ending up doing nothing but lofting it up in the air and makes it look so weak getting out like that. Do the simple things, rotate, find the gaps, play it safely, big hits can come against spinners but don’t go outside your strength you don’t have Gayle Pollards type power. This goes same to all our batsmen, play within yourselves, shots can come when bowler bowls badly or against spinners.

Take out Sarkar, Liton and Mominul and you will have some space for them. If you take out Imrul as well, then even with Tamim and Shakib, these 2 have a spot in the team.

Did he stop keeping? He definitely was a keeper when he was younger but I thought the conclusion was that he was a pretty horrible keeper, may have improved on that though as it’s been a few years.

Yes Mithun is indeed a keeper. A wicketkeeper that is. And quite horrible at that.

I like most about him is his fearless attitude. He has got power and shots but still need to work with his technique. His tendency to play across the line will be a problem in fast bouncy tracks. Highly potential as all others but how he develops himself is the most important.

It is nice to have a few wicket keeper-batsman. All wicket keeper needs to be a top order batsman to get change in nat team. Wicket keepers should to be in the team just for wicket keeping. It just makes sense!

3 the current Indian team players are wicket keepers (Dhoni, Rayudu, Karthik).

Speaking of keeper, I think Liton was quite good. Saw his drop, didn't see his two stump redemption.

He has awful technique against Pace bowling. He struggles even when there is slight movement.

Sabbir Rahman is miles better than him both as a batsman and as a feilder

Shanto has brilliant technique and needs to be persisted, he is only 19 and will make mistakes. He is also a brilliant fielder. He was the best fielder in the U19 squad (under Stuart Law).

Not sure what happened with Nasir hossain, but Nasir was an excellent option as a late order batsman , part time spinner and also a great fielder.
