Beard isnt an absolute must. Perhaps, SHIV is a closet moslem? He likes to keep it low key just as his batting.

TEA and Dec.!

2. naeem: when mahmudullah got a promotion, naeem got the chance here. did well in a partnership with shakib against england in a game where after a good partnership which was looking to be a match saving was blown when shakib tried to hit a six of the bowling of tradewell. naeem contributed well in that game at no 8 and had few other decent innings at that position.

3. nasir: the latset sensation whi has finished well in some ODI innings for BD is now favourite for that specialist batsman at no 8 slot.

4. just as i was writing i found a Darkhorse for the position. Sharapova Rajib, who has played well in same nightwatchman innings for BD can be a potential dark horse for this no 8 position and thus demote naeem or nasir to no 9 and thus explore the opportunity of having a specialist batsmen at no 9
Riyad is utter useless at this point in pretty much all formats. He bowling isnt reliable and we can find any jodu modu to proxy his batting. In ODI Zia should be considered and in tests it has to be a bowling allrounder someone like shohag gazi. That gives Nasir a step up.

I think naeems role this time is more of a batsman than an allrounder and it showed his lack of bowling. He probably is slotted to come at 4. If not I don't think we needed him first place.

i really don't get why nazimuddin was in the squad if he wasn't getting a game, he opened in the last test match, he's done ok so far so understandable why he was selected but makes no sense why he wouldn't play. whoever opens with tamim is the one who should have sat out so nazimuddin could play i mean if you're going to select him then give him a fair chance to show his stuff otherwise anamul should have been selected.

My prediction...BD 425 all out (Tamim to tie Ashraful's century record).

agree, riyad atm shouldn't be getting a game, sohag could be a bowling allrounder at #7 or #8, that could allow either another spinner (enam jr) or another pacer (possibly alauddin since he's ha potential to open the bowling but can also bat a bit). this batting to #8 business i.e. actual batsmen playing in the #8 spot is really hurting the bowling. there is no reason why mushy can't bat at #6 and we can have a couple of bowling allrounders at 7 and 8. in any case #7 should be the lowest spot for a batsman.
