Thumbs up What a day of cricket!

Lot of thrills all around the world of international cricket today!

Ashes - Test3 day3
Gilchrist scores the second fastest Test century ever!
102* 59 12x4 4x6 SR=172.88 just one ball more than Viv Richards legendary record!
Langer was bowled first ball by Hoggard on day2 but Australia declared on 527/5 with Hayden 92, Ponting 75, Hussey 103, Clarke 135* (off 164 balls) leaving England a 557 runs target! Now they are on 19/1 with Strauss out for a duck... coach Fletcher said England can reach the target... and I say that Panesar will make a double century!:p (he took three wickets more... btw).
Ashes are on English hands for the last day, 99%.

South Africa v India - Test1 day2
Ganguly makes 51* on his comeback match! Pollock takes 4-39 as India are bowled for 249, then... Sreesanth devastates South Africa with 10-3-40-5 as the Proteas collapse to 45/7! Than a slight fightback to 84/7 but Kumble makes 2-1-2-2 (lol!) and South Africa end on 84/10!
Then it's time for Indian batsmen to suffer and their top order collapse for 61/4! At last 20 wickets on a day... Ganguly is out on 25: India 146/5 lead by 311 runs!
Pollock has just taken two wickets more becoming 10th cricketer ever to take 400 Test wickets!

New Zealand v Sri Lanka - Test2 day2
Malinga 5-68 and Murali 4-31 ruthlessly dismiss NZ for 130... then Test debutant Chamara Silva 79* takes SL to 255/5 with a 363 runs lead, very close to level the series!

Pakistan v West Indies - ODI5
Pakistan win comfortably on 239/3 with 19 balls to spare. Notable: Chanderpaul 101 and Naved 4-43.
Series 3-1 to Pakistan.

Tomorrow: 3th ODI seres whitewash for Bangladesh in a year!

I would say, Monty will score a tripple

I have enjoyed the shameful NZ drubbing the most. They are the shameless cheats.

Gilly missing the chance of breaking the record of King Viv.
Malinga taking the head of 'unsporting' McCullan

Why on the earth did Ponting declare so early? He still had 5 more players to go. Should have gone for 630 at least with 2 days to spare.

Its just crazy. If England somehow chases that total, I'll go to Perth and shoot him myself.

Shocking captaincy.

I know its crazy, the highest 4th innings chase is about 418.

But one has to look at the flip side of it. England has 2 days AND they have Collingwood and Pietersen who are in good form. Alister Cook just hit a boundary as I write. He looks good too.

Point is, its not a risk worth taking. Besides, where is the harm if they stayed back the few overs and make it 600?
