Default Help Save Tarik - Please Donate

This is a personal message to fellow BC members to help save a young boy. Tarik is nephew of one of my close friends. He has been diagnosed with fatal bone marrow disorder (aplastic anemia). Please watch attached youtube video on him from RTV news report to get more details.

Please donate whatever you can (every $1 counts). His family needs over $30K in treatment.
You can DONATE directly through paypal by clicking below:

Quote:

Sheikh Tarikuzzaman is a 17 years old boy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, suffering from Aplastic Anemia. Aplastic anemia is a blood disorder in which the body's bone marrow doesn't make enough new blood cells. Sheikh is in critical condition right now, suffering silently in agony without proper medical treatment due to intense financial hardship, and all his parents can do is watch in dismay. His parents take care of him as much as they can within their limited abilities, but their ability is not anywhere close to enough for their son’s treatment. They are terrified, and dumfounded, pleading anyone and everyone for help so they can save their son. He needs around US$30,000-US$40,000 for his initial treatment. So we are requesting everyone to help save Sheikh’s life by donating generously and keeping him in your prayers.

In Bangladesh send your donations to:

Nasif, thanks for posting this.

I would also encourage those of you in the US to read the FAQ and consider joining the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry. Bone marrow transplant is a life-saving treatment for people with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, sickle cell and other life-threatening diseases. However, it requires donors who are genetic matches, and even with a registry of millions, many patients cannot find a match. Patients are most likely to match someone of their own race or ethnicity. And there simply aren't enough members in the registry with South Asian ancestry.

Salaam all,
Think of it as a LOAN to Allah Subhana wa tala. Any amount.

He, the most Exalted, the most Merciful will return the LOAN in many folds, in ways you could not even imagine.

Any charity given for the sake of Allah Subhana wa tala, Allah promises to return in many folds. Allah's promise never fails.

Thank you everyone for your support and contributions in this dark hour of our family. We really appreciate it beyond words. So far, our friends have donated with open hearts and we have raised about $2,500. Please keep donating as we still have a long way to go to save my nephew, Tarik, and he needs his transplant soon. Thank you all once again.

Please visit my blog for recent updates.

I'll do my bit, and pass this on to others....

Have they considered going to the local mosque, talking to the mosque committee and possibly announcing that all the money collected on that particular Jummah will go to help this poor kid etc etc.

Also, hit up private universities in Dhaka - kids walk around with plenty of cash, and once you see one person donating, positive peer pressure, gets others to contribute too. Same for supershops like Al Mas/Agora/Meena Bazaar. They seem to have donation boxes there quite often, and plenty of people donate.

Lastly, Destiny health and education foundation donates money to the needy. Recently donated 3lakh taka to a burn victim. Maybe contact them.

Not sure what you meant, but this is not an appeal from 2002. Here is ittefaq report from Dec 19th.
