Default Next Test 11

Now is the big question, who should play the next match?

Knowing BCB, they will probably host the same team.

Here is my 11...Both Sumit and moni should be there, spinners get more advantage. Replace Alamgir with Sumit. Take out Sezan, and Bring in Tushar Imran. Bulbul also sucked ( 0 runs and 4 balls). Bring back Ash, if he cant score, at least he will get 1-2 wickets.

Finally, move Talha to number 9. He managed to face 39 balls and stay not out on both innings. He deserves a promotion for that.

Hannan
Rokon
Sumon
Akram
Tushar
Ash
Pilot
Moni
Talha
Sumit
Monjur

Default Bulbul unlucky in 2nd innings

My Cable TV is back. So, I think I can give you a proper assessment of how our players played today.

Bulbul's out was unlucky - though it was not umpire's fault. On another day, he may have been considered to be not out as the decision could have gone in batsman's favor.

In several TV replays, and from different angles, the commentators could not determine for 100 percent if the ball had hit the batsman's pad and then gone on to bat or not.

Default It doesnt matter

It doesnt matter who we replace and who we bring in. There is not a combination of 11 players in this squad that can save us from another innings defeat.

Have you read the newsgroups lately ? Initially people were screaming and yelling "who let Bangladesh play test cricket ?". Now they've given up and resorted to jokes like "to make things more competitive, Bdesh should be allowed to play 3 innings, batters should be allowed to play till they're out twice" etc. etc.

Sigh

Default I would rather drop Akram

I would rather drop Akram and give Bulbul a second chance.

The statistics did say (only from the 2nd innings) that Akram survived 23 balls for 5 runs, (whereas Bulbul could not survive even 1 ball - a golden duck) but from the way Akram batted - he always looked to be getting out rather than trying to stay in.

So far, Bulbul had come at a time when Muralitharan was bowling and was out off his bowling twice in this test match.

And as Muralithran will not be playing in the second test match, so I think that it is an ideal opportunity for Bulbul to bat well.

And he is a dependable batsman, other than the best batsman Sumon.

Default My test elven

My test eleven for the next test match is:

1) Hannan
2) Rokon
3) Sumon
4) Bulbul
5) Seejan*
6) Ashraful
7) Pilot
8) MOni
9) Sumit
10) Talha
11) Monju

*Tushar Imran can get this place, does not matter, but to me, Seejan looked to me to be "TOO SCARED" of the short balls.

He just cannot be an opener - not at least with the attitude that he has (on such good batting wickets of SriLanka, he is scared, what will he do in places like England and even West Indies - not to mention South Africa-Australia).

So, if we are to change our luck, and the selectors do not want to drop Seejan, then this is the ideal place for him to bat at the moment.
