Don't think our bowling was even full strength, no Mishu or Shakhawat. Yet we got Afghans so cheaply!

Batting department still a worry though...

No point playing with full strength.

Afghans are at BD stage with bat. Maybe slightly ahead. They are entering test cricket with the batting strength we had around 2005 with Bashar, Ashraful, Aftab, Rajin leading the way.

They are miles ahead in the bowling department.

Afghan open bowler had great figures:

Mujeeb: 10-1-22-4
2 of those wickets were LBW, this is an indication that he is a wicket-to-wicket bowler and good at line-and-length. Only 16 years old and have already played 6 List-A's and 6 T20s. He bowls off break. His full name is Mujeeb Zadran.

I will definitely keep an eye on him. One for the future.

I am liking what I see from Kazi Anik so far, looks like a good allround prospect.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...er/932677.html

He has been drafted by Rajshahi in the BPL. Hopefully that experience will help him prepare for U/19 WC.

Second match abandoned due to rain http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1...th-odi-series/

Think we got away this time. The batsmen struggling so much against Afghans on a home track! Don't see much hope for this bunch in NZ. I will be happy if we don't end up in a plate group.

Lol you guys realise AFG are probably in the top 8 teams if not higher at this level? Not to mention they get a big genetic advantage.

That and half their team are probably in their mid 20's

As per Imtiaz Hossain (opener, Sylhet Division), quality of the Sylhet wicket has gone down a lot lately. It will reflect poorly on the game development committee if our boys struggling in Sylhet not because quality of opposition bowling, but because of poorly prepared pitches.

1 all after 3,both sides look like weak batting line ups.
Bangladesh had such a good lead up to the last cup, dunno what happened.
Its in Feb.
S Africa and Zimbabwe are plaing a lot of one dayers.

Afghans batting first in the fourth match. Hasan Mahmud got both openers out already.

Fifer for Nayeem! He destroyed Afghan middle order! Still 2 overs left in his quota.

pitches in sylhet are bouncy, so this show how much our bating is weak against good bouncy pitches.
huys like Afif, saif seems overrated in such pitches.

This U19 would not do well in England.

Alarm bells should be ringing in BCB headquarters by now.

What on earth is happening. I thought Bangladesh Under 19 are giants in age group cricket. Seems like they are drawing inspiration from their boro bhais.
