Default Stuart Law Perfect Solution for Bangladesh Cricket, Why?

First of all, we need to understand that IPL teams will not hire Stuart Law unless he demonstrates that he can turn players into world class players. I can personally see Tamim Iqbal being turned into Dilsan, Imrul Kayes into Mahela Jayawardene and Shakib Al hasan into Ajatha Mendis as a bowler. It is hard to believe that a guy like Stuart Law will take losing streak to his name. Further, we need a battling specialist coach, and if we get him, what is wrong in that. Bringing in Assistant coach of other countries and making them into real coaches is like giving them the opportunity to learn. But Bringing in Coaches that are already experienced with international teams will have a different dilemma to the Bangladesh Cricket. It is time for us to move one step ahead, Not just learn, we have been learning for 25 years, now we need to step on the gas. Once your into the national team, it should be plan and execute, its not the place to learn. The place to learn is in the domestic level, the Under 19 level and the Bangladesh A team level. And lastly The IPL thing who Stuart Law would like to Join in the Future is a good thing for us, because if Bangladesh performs bad, it will be less likely that any team would want him.

Not trying to be biased or anything but turn Shakib into a bowler like Mendis? I found this a bit funny!

we all know that shakibs battling is pretty good, and for ODI he is our best bet, But for bowling he has great potentials. Look at Ajantha Mendis ODI Record Bowling:

Mat Inns Balls Runs Wkts BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 4w 5w 10
52 49 2443 1741 89 6/13 6/13 19.56 4.27 27.4 4 3 0

Average: 19.56

Shakib is Shakib. He don't need to be no Mendis. Same for Tamim. He's a beast in his own right. He just needs to be a little less selfish, and he's set. Anyway I don't really see your point. How is Stuart Law more suitable over Barnes? Personally, neither sound very experienced, and I really wish BCB were after someone else. But Stuart Law's latest coaching escapade has left me somewhat lacking confidence in him. If Sri Lanka can collapse like that, I'd hate to imagine what we'd be under him.

Well, we were looking for Battling specialist coach and hence, Stuart Law seems suitable amongst the Candidates. Well One collapse doesnt mean anything. Unless it is something like 58 and 78 well thats a different issue. Teams have bad days but not many teams... Bangladesh have good record of having bad record, but that does not mean we have to blame the coach. After all the players perform on the pitch right?

I hope all this negativity regarding Law brings in some positive results, whenever we have been too hopeful, we got a Jamie type result, no need for any explanation, as i vividly remember the excitement when Jamie was hired first, and we all went gaga....it dint take too long

No offence but your post, poll topic and title doesnt make much sense together. You say law is perfect and then put a poll with who do we want as coach, and there are no clear reasons as to why he is perfect. Are u jashan83 by any chance?

I totally agree with your point, the reason i opened this thread is becuase many people are very negative about Law. And Its not nice, we should back any coach that comes into bangladesh. If we want to blame anyone why not blame those that hire them or run bangladesh, am sure they have been running the country cricket for 25 years, why not analyse them?

Stats doesn't say it all. Mendis is not the main bowler for Sri Lanka. On the contrary Shakib has to lead Bangladesh's bowling attack.

Menis normally comes in to attack when the opposition already lost 1/2 wickets or more. Shakib's case is different. Other than last couple of months, Shakib always comes into attack when the opposition is on fire.

1.5/10 to this thread for saying "turn Sakib into Mendis & Tamim into Dilshan"
Because Sak with the ball is a lot better than Mendis,Dilshan on the other hand took I guess more than 8 years to be where he is today,in Test averaging 42.18 played 69 Test,Tamim already on 40s playing 19 tests.
Not saying Tamim>Dilshan but just saying Tamim is already on the track which Dilshan took 8+ yrs to find. He needs to continue in his way.

Give Mendis 50 more matches. He has lost his magic. Shakib on the contrary is getting better day by day!

Don't take anything away from Mendis, he is an extremely clever bowler. But Shakib also needs to perfect his batting, so unlike mendis, he does not bowl in the nets much. They are both world class, and each have different styles. Dilshan is more intelligent than Tamim, not one who always throws good starts away. Until Tamim converts 30's into 50's , and 50's into hundreds, Dilshan will always be better.

Mark my words "Stuart Law would be the biggest mistake the BCB could make as Head Coach".

He has shown no leadership qualities as a coach, is out of his depth with Sri Lanka and this would be his first job in charge of ANY side (he is interim coach and does not have head coach mandate). There is a reason why Sri Lanka has not appointed him full time head coach.

Disaster waiting to happen... a very poor version of Jamie Siddons.

Couldnt agree more. We are always at the receiving end of discarded products. I though this trend would have ended this time ..

We need a coach works and love our cricket cordially. But in case of Law, he isn't perfect person with this sense though he is a world class coach.

and how is he world class? just because someone has played in the world level, doesnt mean he is a good coach in the first place.

We need to understand that this guy Law has talent, Leadership skill, Believe me there is something in him, we just have to wait and find out... its good that atlast people are not on fire and happy about someone being the coach of bangladesh. This might be the turning point of bangladesh cricket.
