I did not like the idea that BCB curtailed the number of matches in NCL. In near future i would like to see two tier NCL with relegation system which will increase the completion. But to do that we need more teams, but in current structure where six divisions represents, i can't find scope to increase the number of team.
Thats why i liked the idea of BCB for promoting the Dhaka Premiere league and give it a 1st class status. BCB should encourage clubs from other districts to participate and make it BPL instead of DPL. I am referring to the way Foot-ball federation is organizing Bangladesh league. By some modification BCB can organize a 2/3 tier relegation system league tournament with best clubs from throughout bangladesh. It will definitely increase the attraction and competition.
in IPL and ICL, ppl are trying to craete a club culture and fan base. In Bangladesh we already have huge fan base for teams like Abahani/Mohammean/Brothers, we must use this resources. I beleive clubs like Abahani/Mohammedan has lot to offer to Bangladesh cricket and we should use our strong club culture in our benefit.

Lankan umpires for NCL
The Daily Star
Sri Lankan umpires Athula Senanayake and Sagara Gallage have been named in the umpires pool of the 10th National Cricket League.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board yesterday named twenty-two umpires for the lone first-class competition of the country.
The two Sri Lankans will become the first foreign umpires to stand in first-class matches in Bangladesh but there have been instances of umpires coming from abroad for select Premier League matches.
52-year-old Senanayake, a former member of the Sri Lanka Army, is an umpire of the Premier panel in Sri Lanka since 2001 while the 43-year-old Gallage is a former first-class batsman.
Among the field umpires' panel, all the country's National Pool umpires have been named while former national players Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Shaikat (Grade A) and Anisur Rahman (Grade B) are also included.
Another former national cricketer, Morshed Ali Khan, is on the Reserve Umpires' Panel.

Got this off the Cricketweb BD Domestic Thread
Quote:
National Cricket League (FC) 2008-09, Round One
Khulna: Khulna v Sylhet*
Khulna 178 (61.2) - Nabil Samad 8-61
Sylhet 42-6 (21.2) - Ziaur Rahman 3-9
The wickets tumbled on day one on what would appear a lively wicket. Khulna made a steady start, with Nazmus Sadat (43) and Mostafizur Rahman (48) moving them to 129-2. Then left-arm spinner Nabil Samad ripped through the middle and lower order, claiming figures of 21-4-61-8; the last seven wickets fell for just 49 runs. When Sylhet fell to 18-5 in reply, 178 looked like a monumental total. Golam Mawla was forced to retire hurt and Abul Hasan was caught behind off the final ball of the day to leave Sylhet in the mire.
Rajshahi: Rajshahi* v Barisal
Barisal 186-7 (90) - Imran Ahmed 53*, Sajidul Islam 43*; Alamgir Kabir 6-53
It was slow going in Rajshahi as the away side crawled through the day, scoring at barely two runs an over. Alamgir Kabir was the wrecker-in-chief, taking the first five wickets to fall to reduce Barisal to 52-5. Imran and Sajidul led the fightback with an unbroken stand of 8, the former occupying the crease for over five hours and 238 balls. Suhrawadi Shyvo finished the day with the figures of 22-7-53-6.
Fatullah: Dhaka v Chittagong
No play - waterlogged outfield

Nabil Samad..whoa!
অবশ্য যে লীগে আলমগীর কবিরের মত মোয়া বোলার ৬ উইকেট নিতে পারে, সে লীগ নিয়ে বেশি কিছু না বলাই ভাল।

18/5 tho kisu na. Very recently (this week) in SA league, their best team was allout by 28 runs in 26 overs, 4 day match replying to a 250+ first inning score.
Ntini got 5 wkts giving 9 runs 5 maidens I think 10 overs bowling. Read it somewhere. Don't feel like digging up the report.

probably the early season pitches are behaving like minefield for batsmen.... Asif is right, if a bowler like Alamgir Kabir got 6 wickets then there must be something wrong!
