BDFlag England Lions vs Bangladesh A

Seems like England sending a very inexperience and young squad to face us. I was expecting a better team than this but this team can certainly challenge us.

England Lions squad
James Taylor (capt), Jonathan Bairstow, Scott Borthwick, Danny Briggs, Jack Brooks, Nathan Buck, Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, Simon Kerrigan, Tom Maynard, Stuart Meaker, Tymal Mills, Boyd Rankin, Joe Root, Jason Roy, James Vince

+++++++++++++++++++++++
Now i hope we will do the same. I mean give some young blood a chance (Anamul, Asif, Mominul, Somouya, Hom, Nur, Gazi, Babu, Al-Amin, Kamrul Rabbi)) in this series instead of nat discards like kayes, sn,junaid, Rok.

hahah Boyd Rankin, the tall Irish bowler is in this team. This is like a trial series for him to play for England.

And they did the same 5 years ago. That team had Onion,Bresnan,Broad,Rashid,Prior,Yardy, Home Boy Davies .

We know them now.

James Taylor is groomed to be future middle order bat for England.

James Vince is Michael Vaughn clone

Jos Butler look him up on you tube, plays for somerset

Alex Hales is Tamim's opening partner at Notts and goes faster than rate of knots.

Boyd Rankin the next Irish sensation in England's camp.

Jason Roy seen him play for Surrey. Very exciting opener.

This is from top of my head. I am sure if I look them up on CI I can say more. But this is very strong squad.

Player who will trouble our batsmen: Danny Briggs (SLA)

does that mean Ranking is no longer suiting up for Ireland?

ICC better give Ireland test status soon.

Not a weak side by any means. Bairstow, Borthwick, Buttler, Meaker, and Hales have all represented England in LOIs recently. Taylor is the best English batsman outside of the national team and his entry into International cricket is imminent. Didn't realise the tour would contain only limited-overs games and no FC matches which is a bummer. Should be a good contest nonetheless.

Should have played a couple of FC games. Asif and Anamul have crappy List A stats, so not sure if they should make the team. how did they do in last year's DPL?

Don't understand why they had to scrap FC games. This is the place where you get a flavour of real cricket and they scrapped it. Not happy with it.

No need. Take a look at the WI tour. Junaed, Johir failed to get anything out of that tour. Let our next generation get some experience. I lost my hope on our current bunch...

Since this is an A team series, I don't think Asif/Anamul will be there anyhow since they are Academy players. Selectors seem to want to groom the current bunch. Which is why we had this drama over Mominul's inclusion.

Very disappointed that it's only one-day cricket, they should have included a couple of four day games.
The team should include Anamul and Asif, Anamul has poor List A stats but has a good U19 record, Asif is very attacking in first class cricket, let's see if he can translate that to the one day games.

There's no point selecting the likes of Jahurul, Junaid, Mithun etc, they've failed in the last A team tour, now let the others have a chance.

Rather than wasting time on has-beens, this is an ideal tour to look ahead IMHO. My team:

1. Anamul Haq Bijauy (C-Bat, WK): Top prospect, multiple gears, great temperament.
2. Fazle Rabbi (Bat): Aggressive opener.
3. Mominul Haq (Bat) Consolidator type.
4. Asif Hossain (Bat): Multiple gears, great temperament.
5. Shubhagauto Hom (Bat): Multiple gears, great temperament.
6. Nasir Hossain (Spin, Bat): Needs to bowl with freedom and show better batting technique.
7. Sabbir Rahman Rumman (Spin, Hit): Effective bowler, aggressive batsman.
8. Alauddin Babu (3rd Seamer, Bat): Mediocre bowler, good batsman with multiple gears.
9. Shubhashish Roy (New Ball, Hit): Pace and aggression, heavy hitter.
10. Nur Hossein Munna (Spin): Aggressive.
11. Kamrul Islam Rabbi (New Ball): Pace and aggression.

Extras: Junaid Siddiqi Imroze, Dhiman Ghosh, Soumya Sarkar and Talha Jubair.

Observe who performs and how and then get them into the team pronto.
