Default Let's talk video games

I'm starting this thread so that everyone can discuss their favourites games, consoles and any related topics from any era or genre to their heart's content.

I'll start with an update for the PSP.

It is now officially possible to purchase/run PS1 games. Currently the emulation only allows games bought from Playstation store, but if you're smart you can play your existing collection, legally.

Thankfully I held onto my precious collection. That means means a PSP can now be used for:

- Movies
- Music
- Web Browser
- RSS Feed aggregator
- PsOne
- N64
- SNES
- NES/SMS
- TurboGraphix-16
- Genesis
- GBA/ WonderSwan
- Homebrew applications

Currently playing: Final Fantasy IX (PSP) / Company of Heroes (PC)

My fav game in PC is Rise of Nations (RTS). Hands down one of best strategy games ever made.

Long long time ago, in galaxy far far away, in 1994 I used to be crazy about DOOM. Then Quake3 for sometime. Now, not much into FPS anymore.

In consoles my fav game is Mortal Kombat. Love it since MK2. Now playing the newest one MK Armageddon.

Another Rise of Nations fan

Did you try the new Rise of Legends? Maybe not as great as Rise of Nations, but very enjoyable.

Yea, played it, but didn't like it. Completely new style of gameplay, nothing to do with RoN at all. They just created a whole new game. I was hoping they would improve on RoN and create something even better.

Once you get used to the world of RoL, then it's a very nice game. Actually it's a good thing that they created a similar, yet totally new game. RoN had very little room for further improvement in terms of gameplay. They could make it 3D, but that doesn't add anything to RTS games.

how did I miss this 2nd post in this Thread, I was an Age of Empires Kid never got to experience online play tho, Theres stills thousands of online PC gamers that still play Diablo II and WOW.

These new games for PS3 and 360 have been a major let down aside from a few games, I thoight Batman was average, tried doing the riddler challenges got bored after a while the fact that the ps1/ps2 games are still more fun than most of the newer Franchises is a bit of a Major Letdown.

90% of the Garbage that is out there < Crash Bandicoot 1-3

I can see where you're coming from but I'm surprised you found Batman: AA boring based on the ridder challenges? Did you not enjoy playing through the story and beating up some of Batman's arch enemies?

I see you mentioned Crash Bandicoot 1-3 specifically as games you enjoyed from the PS1 era, which if you didn't know were developed by Naughty Dog before they were bought by Sony and the Crash franchise stayed with Universal and downhill from there.

Naughty Dog is the developer of the hit Playstation 3 franchise Uncharted (they also developed the Jak & Daxter series on the PS2). If you have a PS3, I highly recommend you pick up Uncharted 1 & 2 because they are not only the best action-adventure games but two of THE best games of this generation.

no i beat it and than tried doing them all ... i felt like I got robbed for 60 bucks, very low replay value

Had a PS3 than my lil bro sold it , got a 360 now. Aside from Burnout ... I thought the UFC fighting game was a really complete fighting fighting game and enjoyed that alot.

I'm hearing great things about Fallout and uncharted problem is I'm the type of person that needs to play the prequels before playing the current games.

The replay value for that game is in the challenge maps, which are.. well.. challenging.

It's not necessary to play Fallout 1 & 2 to enjoy Fallout 3, which has its own story. It's kind of like a GTA, which has a new story with each installment but there are some references to past games or a common setting (i.e. Liberty City). As for Uncharted you should play it anyway. It's probably selling for a bargain price right now but you could just rent it and then buy Uncharted 2 which has multiplayer and is incredibly fun.

Anyway, seems like a moot point since your bro sold your PS3. Poor decision.

Anyone owned Atari 2600? As far as I can remember my gaming days begun with Pitfall!

Nasif bhai, if you enjoyed RoN, you must play Company of Heroes.

The thread title says favourite video games but we have members like Ferdous Bhai and Hatebreed listing all the games they played in their life or is it that they have so many favourite games which would mean they are gaming almost 24/7 !!!!!

Title says "Let's talk video games" so you can talk about anything relevant.

al Furqaan bhai and Ferdous bhai listed their all-time favourites so I listed mine.. it's harder to decide just one than beat them all... and yes, I've played and enjoyed many more.
