You guys need to calm down. Why are you tagging him as a momma's boy? Where in the interview does it say he is missing his momma? Or he is getting homesick? As far I know his parents still live back home at Magura, not with him at his pad in Mirpur. He is an INTERNATIONAL cricketer he stays away from Bangladesh without his momma for around half the year. He is used to it since his BKSP/U19 days. The only difficulty for him would be staying at a flat without his mates as he is used to staying at 5* hotels when abroad. You guys go way overboard after reading a useless piece of report. I think he didn't take the interview seriously after reading the wife comment.

I am more worried about how he is driving in the UK. Jail e dhukay dile problem ase.

Then someone in BC will open a thread & say how proud he is of son Shakib for going to the same jail as Swan & claim it'll help his career.

No 1 is calling him a momma's boy. Momma's boy is some other discussion. Shakib's discussion is that; he is a celebrity, you don't just go in and give him food, and look after him. He is not your best friend. Just because you see him on TV, doesnt mean he sees you or knows you. If random people knocks on your door, and brings you food or says he/she willing to look after you, how'd you feel?

Momma's boy was another different topic...

Ekdom kora ekta kotha bolsen. If I am not mistaken, Shakib left his home when he was in grade 7[BKSP] how many of the 'independent' English player has done that? Since then Shakib is leaving on his own.
another thing, Shakib is not cooking for himself or struggling in Worc., he clearly said he just makes his breakfast, the other two meals are quite possibly provided by the club/restaurant. People have gone way overboard as you said.
Also, I don't want him to live a wild life ala Shoaib Akhter, let him be the shy little fellow who won millions of Bangladeshi hearts with his grin-after-a-wicket. I am sure Shakib, who has captained his nation is more than capable of taking care of himself.

I can't believe there was such a big convo on how Shakib is living by himself..people have to understand that he might be missing his family but don't you think he wanted and expected this? I mean he clearly stated he always wanted to play counties since he was little so he's just chasing his dream..he must be the happiest he's ever been..its good that he's playing in counties..it should teach him a lot not just on the field but off the field as well..

And they've signed Dwayne Bravo for the t20 finals

BTW dilscoop I fail to understand you sometimes, I really do! "I didint know she was a girl" If I remember correctly you made that discovery in a previous thread (cricket lookalikes i think) that I am indeed a dudette

Ye, think so. But I believe there's a time limit (generally a year) within which you've replace it by a UK license. My mate's doing the same.

I sent an email wishing Shakib and Worcestershire all the best to bbchwcricket@yahoo.co.uk . Just send them a one liner to say where are you listening from, and do mention Banglacricket.com on your email.

Just because you can earn money and pay bills doesn't give you "independence" when the system OWNS you. Heck even homeless person is bound by laws of weather, God's wrath etc.

IMHO... True independence comes from self-realization. A man who knows his own weakness and strengths- be he mommas boy, wives toy or Shawn Michaels- can get out of any situation and be in total control of it. Heck even Bill Gates is not independent per se given the fact he is bound by God's law in this dunya. Thus to me paying your own rent or owning a benz on lease has nothing to do with being a man if you are not sure of yourself and be in total control of a situation.

Apologies for the digression. This is a good discussion; may be mods can open up a new thread in fc and move the relevant posts there?
I think this is actually a good topic for discussion.

In social context, “independence” means one’s own ability to handle own affairs. For example, if you are severely depressed, you are likely to lose all motivation and abilities- ability to work, ability to look after yourself, ability to pay rent, bills, ability to communicate with others etc, thus, you can become “dependant” on others to do these things (attachment) for you.

In social context, a person who has capability of earning and not vulnerable (e.g depressed person, person with Parkinson disease, homeless person et al), is considered to be an “independent “person.

I sent email as well, but my address was bbchwcricket@yahoo.co.uk
They received my email and read it on their commentary. So, are they (emails) both correct?

Perhaps those openers can learn some fluency from Shakib.
And imagine if he really learned some patience & scored 9 off 53 in a BD match, the fans here will bash him like there's no tomorrow.
