No concessions.
We would defend our territory to the last draw.

Both countries needs to seek for a peaceful solution.
Makes me wonder about the timing of the conflict. Just before our election, and more importantly, just after high officials from Myanmar visits our country where there were talks of a transit route between Bangladesh and China via Myanmar, we are into this situation.

Also there were talks of Asian Highway where Bangladesh, with support from China and Myanmar, is going to appeal for a change of route, which isnt making a 'certain' country very happy.

Makes me wonder.

We must do our best to protect our resources and territory. I wonder if China has any involvement with it.

If Myanmar finds any valuable natural resource there then as the God-Father of Burma, China will be able to utilize it at its best. We must send a full strengthened naval force there to stop them working. If need we need to apply force.....

Do u know what would be the consequence of that war? We can't afford to even think of involving war with anyone.

Guys.. Burmeese will kick our ***, you know why ? China and India both will be supporting Burma on this , because if Burma finds Oil in Bay they will sell it to China and India. If BD finds Oil , no way they gonna sell it to anyone!.

WAR!!! with Burma! trust me, burma way stronger than us. I have many burmese friends and i know their situation. They can even fight with Thailand. Burma is almost like north korea, they don't feed their ppl instead buying weapons from China.

We should resolve the matter with dialogue only.

Bangladesh is on good terms with China so not like they'll help Burma as much as they would against other pro-western countries. As for Burma being strong, they got few friends and US will be very keen to help out. Plus Bangladesh has man power advantage.

But a greedy, improvished Burma won't back off easily. But US and EU will definitely support BD on this because if Burma does succeed in getting these oil, their recent sanctions will prove to be fruitless.

Burma has few friends but as someone said, India and China will support them for sure.

Also, Burma's govt is a bit of a nutcase, where their people dont matter much, their response to Nargis was alarming

We are lucky alhamdulillah to have a military which is not as demented as Burma's .

We do have the right to control our sovereign entities. They had been formally warned and a request was made on the UN. And besides if there were to be conflicts, we will have the air and naval superiority. I Just checked their Air Force. They got nothing fancy, 12 mig-29 whereas, we got 14(2 UB models). And we outnumber them in a 2:1 ratio for the normal Chengdu F-7 Airguard. And their outdated frigates(corvettes really) should not pose any threat to us.

lets be sure we're not jumping the gun here, and following in the biggoted conservative footpath of "my country right or wrong".

are we sure that the terrirtory under dispute really belongs to us? if not, then we better apoligize and move forward.

as Malcolm X once said, "respect everybody, but if someone lays his finger on you, then send him to the cemetary".

unfortunately today, the world loves the cemetary part, forgetting about the respect, which is the prerequisite requirement.

I am quite impressed by the way the government has dealt with this issue.
