Tamim's Promise - We will see a 100 partnership in this World Cup
Daily Star article. Apparently, Tamim promised that Bangladeshi batsmen would produce a 100 partnership during this world cup. If that happens, it would make a serious contribution to beating SAF on Saturday.
http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig...php?nid=178156
"For the last two days I heard about this matters many times. And I also want to make it happen. You know I also dream of a hundred. I can promise you that at least you will see a hundred-run partnership in this World Cup," promised Tamim.
---------------------
What is his record on making promises but not keeping them?

In the match against Saffers in 07 he made 38 and had direct hit to break an important p'ship between Pollok and Gibbs. I hope he performs to his potential this time again.

Most likely none.
He also pormised to his team mates that CTG fans will be much more player friendly, only to find out that one man showing thumbs down sign to the team outsidse their bus, He (the fan) was apprehended and punished for his action.

I don't see any problem with TIK, players when under pressure tries to find solace through fans, I would say we are behind you, yes you can do whatever you are willing to do here.

TIK should learn from Imrul Kayes. We haven't heard a peep from Kayes even though he was the top scorer in 2010 and now in this WC too.

A good knock is due. He played 3 decent knocks but this time he should make a good one.

TIK should shut his mouth. Not just for the big words but the big volumes of food that goes in it. Big bhuri and two bowled out dismissals to in-swingers off length and Mr. show-time doesn't think he has any technical problem. Well dude technically you are overweight and have man-boobs! There! I said it.

Lol.
Empty vessels make much noise.
I hope tamim finally fires in this match. If he can score slower 70 rather than a rpid 30 odd I think inshalah we can get close to a 100 run partnership.
That being said, Canada, Netherlands, Ieland have all produced players who have scored a hundred in world cups, hope tomorrow's the day for us

BULLSHIT;
u guys change minds so quickly,
he before said " I don't want fifties,I want hundreds" & he did get 2 consecutive 100s in Eng.
One should have a big heart & a big mouth, this shows the confidence level of a player or a team.
And he was indeed the top scorer in 1st 2 matches.
he got the ability to keep his promises,he got 2 ducks so what?look at his other 3 innings.

Hope tamim gets a big one against SA. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with saying something provided you back it up, tamim did that against england, hope he does it again here. But when things aren't going your way, I guess one should lay low and not talk to the media too much-i think the media's been the biggest distraction for BD. He is still our best batsman but he should imitate sehwag with the bat not the mouth i guess
SN has a bigger bhuri as does sehwag
Too much rice and ghee and tel(Ashraful eats Kingfisher I believe)
Who is the fittest in the BD team? I think Rubel probably, bagerhat boy

@Simon, I'm not dissing his abilities. If you go and check the LBW's thread I supported keeping him as an opener. However it is not right for him to let himself go at such an early age, puff ciggies like they are going out of fashion and then make big claims when he's huffing and puffing and has developed a clear technical deficiency.

I agree. he is not careful enough when he first faces the bowler. Imrul is quiet, but has delivered. Tamim is all talk now, he has already gotten 2 ducks, one even against the Dutchies. He should deliver now as Imrul is doing.

Tamim will score big next match. It's about time he fires, and when he fires he fires big. We need him the most for this match. More than any other match in our history probably. It doesn't get bigger than this. He will prove the naysayers wrong.
