Default NBA Playoffs

So far the playoffs have been pretty exciting.
West:
Lakers swept Nuggets
Jazz beat Rockets in 6
Spurs beat Suns in 5
Hornets beat Mavs in 5

The East has been more exciting:

HAWKS-Celtics tied at 3 with Game 7 tommorow- My Atlanta Hawks are playing great basketball at home and hopefully they can play well on the road tommorow.
Cavs beat Wizards in 6
Magic beat Raptors in 5
Pistons beat Sixers in 6

I'm pulling for ATL, there Home Crowd is LOUD and they play a style of Basketball, that I enjoy.

it'll be tough to win in Boston but 2 Choke Jobs in Boston in 2008 would make my year, First the Patriots losing in the Superbowl and Now Potentially this go Hawks!

lol, CM. I didn't like Boston but now they have Cassell. So my borderline hatred has reverted back to Lakers. Although I would have loved Joe Johnson winning the series.

Byron Scott has prepared an excellent team.

Lakers - Jazz's series tied at 2-2.
New Orleans - San Antanio series tied at 2-2.
Boston - Cleveland series tied at 2-2.
Detroit - Orlando series Detroit leads 3-1. Game five at Detroit and Billups is doubtful.

Jamear Nelson's garantee didn't work. Orlando Magics are ousted 4-1. Detroit for six years in a row reached their conference finals. Had Mimic pan out as they thought, they would have accumulated couple of more rings by now. Consistency!!

Lebron james told his mom to sit her a$$ down. lol.

I was at a raptors game in the regular season. I am not a big follower of nba but it seams he is very aggresive with the fans as well. He was taunting a lady at the court side who was cheering for TO.

He is agressive all right.... he is talented thats fine.... but he whines a lot... and acts a lot... anybody touches his body he acts like he is hit hard. He nothing but a BIG spoiled crying baby.
Plus he takes too many three+ streps (i.e. walk) and still not called by the referee.

And he has a vicious dunk. Like Vincanity or Nick or MJ or Horry in his college (Alabama) days. When he is determined to get to the basket watch out.

Well rested pistons should take care of the Celtics. A split in the first two games and Doc Rivers will be in trouble.

I didn't watch the game, but heard Pierce and James went head to head?

Yup. Pierce had 41 and King James had 45.

o well, the Spurs came from behind to clip Hornets in game 7. They did it in style in a hostile environment. That is their first. Next stop Lakers.

Tony vs Fisher is the key matchup. Whoever wins that one should win the series. Manu-Bowen combo is as good as Kobe. Duncan can be neutralized by combination of Gasol and the bench. Pop vs Phil good one coming up.

Well rested Lakers should take the first game. I am hoping the Spurs would get out of LA with a split.

I don't like Kobe ....nor do I like Phil. But after Gasol trade, suddenly lakers became un beatable.

Well atleast we may see Lakers vs Celtics, but only if Celtics can beat Detrot.

Gasol gift by the commish neutralized Bynum's absense. It was the Derek Fisher signning that made them unbeatable. I think Tony will have his hands full. I see Horry to get under Gasol's skin and Duncan take him out down low. Spurs match up well against LA than the Hornets.

Boston wins the first match at home against Detroit. 88-79. Slugfest will continue.

To overcome 20 points referee and commish must play a roll. That is all I want to say in Lakers winning game 1.

I don't think the refs or the commish had anything to do with this. Kobe just played a lot more aggressive in the 2nd half which gave him and his teammates easy shots. BTW, Manu played terrible and Lamar Odom couldn't make a lay-up lol.

Never was tall or Black enough to be any good at baskeball. Also, the Warriors, Wizards, Kings, Blazers, Sonics, and the Clippers all suck. I'll NEVER support a team from LA, except the Ducks and that's only because of Scott Niedermayer.

So, I don't really care about basketball, but it's always good to see good, humble and above all classy guys like Garnett and Allen, both Grant Hill 2.0 IMO, win over mediasluts like Kobe and Gasol, both great enough players to be a bit more chaste.

Heartiest congratulations to the Doc, Pierce and their Celtics, the best TEAM in the NBA alongside the Pistons.

Only Fascist losers who like to beat their wives and kids "say good guys finish last". Time to find that therapist before turing psychotic with a chainsaw.

Off topic: Speaking of mediasluts, I've joined the ranks of Sydney Crosby haters. Maybe "hate" is too strong a word here, but wearing number 87 because you were born on 8-7-87 ?!? Gimmie a freakin' break ! Talk about Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and all that gratuitous sulking, bitching, moaning and spoilt-brat attitude in front of the media to boot !

Get a grip boy and don't wallow in the hype and all the money that comes with it, because as things stand, our Hank and Pav, picked 210th and 17st overall in the NHLED respectively, are way better complete players than you. You get to look at the Cup while they hoist it in your own building, enough said.

Advise to Overpaid Crybaby Crosby: -

Learn to win faceoffs from Malkin, backcheck and PK from Jordan Staal, and better stickhandling at full speed from Hossa, 3 players I'd take before you, and maybe you won't go the Lindros route so fast. Leadership ? Give Iginla, never nearly as hyped as yourself, but an overachieving 2-way player50-goals, 100-points scorer who SINGLEHANDEDLY, without any stars playing beside him, took his team to GAME SEVEN of the SCF and nearly won it.

Most importantly, learn to be humble and let your game do the talking in the finest traditions of hockey, Mario can teach you how.

Let the NBA and NFL stew in that tasteless pomp and flash, PLEASE !

Then ask yourself the question: how many Pens fans would take you over Malkin or Hossa purely on merit or if you weren't playing for the Pens already ? People cannot stand you for a reason. Keep your mouth shut and don't open it before learning to back-up the inarticulate drivel coming out of it.

Sorry Twinsanity, just couldn't help it after seeing a compilation of his PGQs ...

Great. Now in a NBA thread, we are still talking about Sid! Obsessive compulsion..well..good to see that more and more people joining the hate list of Sid the Kid. That means he is really good. He has already won the Hart and Art Ross before his twentieth birthday. Expect to see more.

About the advise part. Thanks but no thanks. By the time he reaches the age of Hank and Pav ( another seven- eight years ), we will see how good he becomes. Anyway..we the Pens fans love him and don't give a hoot about anyones advises.

Crosby is not overpaid. He took a discount when he signed the new contract so the team can sign more players and remain under the cap. Its of course $ 8.7 mil a year ( 87 again ). Compare that to likes of Briere who is making yearly wages of $ 10 mil.

I thought the NHL is over and I excepted with grace that the Red Wings, at this point, are a much better team than the Pens. I am at peace with that outcome. Sadly and unfortunately winning the SC is not enough for some fans who claim to follow the classiest team of 'em all.

Malkin is the weakest center in our squad when it comes to face-offs. Staal will become a defensive specialist ( at 19 he is already in top five ). Hossa thrived because who he played with. Just go ask him or any GM in the league. Malkin maybe, but no way Staal or Hossa gets picked over Sid to start a franchise. Ask any GM.

Don't need to say sorry to me. You say what you mean. Know one thing though- It's worth not even a penny- the diatribe and this obsession with Sid.
Bye now..

So without Shak, Cobe is just another good player.

So happy that accused raper didn't get the ring.
