The only side he improved most, I think in 'catching' since last year WT20. He is still as as usual Abul in all other cases. I'm not gonna rate his avg in batting sanely, neither gonna consider him anything near an allrounder.

i hope Abul never bats again so his batting average stays at 136 for the rest of his life.

If i was a person who didn't know who Abul was but was checking out his CI page i would have no idea if he was actually a gun batsmen or a crap bowler or both.

the guy is at the start of his career...so give him a break.....i remember mushy got plenty of criticism at the early stage of his career (some justifiable some not)....any one remember siddons golden boy comment and the subsequent riddicule....even mushy wasnt ready...geating drafted into a test team in the midle of a tour at the age of 16 on the basis of age group level perforfence is hardly ideal....the point is... it is too early to pass a judgement on abul...may be he is not ready yet but most of our players are not at the start of a career....may be the things are improving in the batting and spinning front...where the batsman and spinner now days have more experience and ready when coming into the national side.....but our pace bowling arsenal is damp...so naturally pace bowlers making it to the international matches wont be just ready yet....it is rather a process where you become ready while you play along and it will be the case for sometime untill our pace bowling stock improves.....the thing is people in power made a judgement call on abuls ability and once you do it you have to back a lad....with time he may succeed (like tamim, shakib, mushy recieved heavy backing) or he may fail (like junaid who was also backed by siddons)..the fact is everything doesnt flourish but some do and some dont...but one has to back the potential...

He improved in catching? Really? Did you actually watch the test?

yep its very noticible if you keep a watch over his every appearance closely.
You gotta be good fan of him first to be a good critic for him. My personal opnion, he is lacking a good polisher to shine. Whether its SJ or someone else, he seriously needs an expert treatment before he spoil his career. atm he is a burdain of our bowling dept in every format.

Let's forget about his bowling. We are talking about his catching here. He dropped the most catch in that test (when it mattered), took a couple of catches later on. So, he did NOT improve in catching since WCT20 tbh. His success rate at catching is far from 100%.

^ lol.. as if anyone expects any better than that from him. I never really expect him to improve drastically like TI did in catching dept. After seeing him those lolly dropping performance in past, these catches are already overwhelming to me. btw I can tell another name i.e. Zia is also in atmosphere to expect dropping catches.

I expected him to bend his back with the second new ball in hand. He didn't. The old "pace versus accuracy" argument I suppose. I hope he has enough desire to recognize that as the false argument it is. Only then we'll see this fine young man will going places despite all the ridicule.

Ashraful is purano papi... Abul is still nish paap. Now in future if he fail to continue improvement over time, my support for him will also fade.

But for now, unlike other fans, I still see promise in him. He is too new to say he is a dead wood.

Today he was bowling at around 132. That hurt me a lot. I expected more pace today.

I think its time that we should look at Abul Hasan as a batsman who can bowl.

Once again Abul showed promises. The most important attribute of his batting is his calm and sensible batting approach unlike some top order batsmen.

How about, Tamim and Abul opening pair ?

He showed again that he can bat. It won't be long before his bowling is also revealed to us lucky ones. Keep the faith people, we have gold in our hands.

And with that, Abul "Bradman" Hasan continues to raise the bar for the mortal batsmen with his batting average. He is a rare allrounder with a high batting average with an even higher bowling average---- Cricinfo
