I do not think Ash, who got out twice on the 1st ball duck would be picked as Man of the series.

yeah strauss scored a lot in this tourney, and all of it against bangladesh. he hasn't done much against aus. (his highest is something in the 20s). i believe symonds deserves it more than strauss.
on the other hand, we of course know who ash plays for, and who he plays against. he still wont get the man of the series (he'll have a some chance if he blasts a big one in the last match), but to me he was the best batsman in this tourney.

Ash has to get over the FIRST BALL SUSPENSE! Every inning he plays, the first ball either gets him out and if it doesn't then it's only because of some sort of freakish luck. I think it's a jinx that he has to get over and put behind.
I would say he has been the most entertaining batsman of this series....as entertaining as watching Afridi, DeSilva or Jayasuriya in action!

Ash should score 150 atleast if he want the Man of the series award....and i guess thatz impossible....if he is gonn come in the middle rather than in opening...

ashraful is not very consistent....unlike trescothick, gillespie or symonds...
plus, one century and an eighty is not enough...its about overall performance and ashraful is no way near trescothick

But Ponting, who warmly patted Ashraful on the back when he reached his century in Cardiff and rated him a good chance to be named man of the tri-series, has warned the young tyro his time in the sun will be fleeting unless he tempers his aggression. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...4,15738129%255

Still a long way to go...my guess is, it will be an all-rounder and if things go as usual, I bet for Symonds!
Ashraful did exceptionally well and still a match to go. Scoring a century and 2 fifties in 5 matches is very very good, even the other two innings go for ducks. But AUS and ENG players are playing more matches and I can't see any practical chance, if the last innings is not a big century!

As of now it is Marcos Trescothick. But there some matches left to play. So will wait and see.

Exactly!
Even though Strauss and Tresco maybe in strong competetion for that MOS with Ash.. but Ash scored his runs against the Aussies & the English!!
No batsman from any other side had to face as tough opposition in every game as Ash had to. He actually had to score against MacGrath, Lee, Harmison, Hoggard, Flintoff... and lot more good bowling!!
If Ash can get blasting in the last match vs the aussies.. he will have high chances to get the MOS maybe!

Ash would need to score more than Strauss's total to get the MOS.
