Default Tamim's approach

He used to bat like Sehwag in Tests not too long ago but specially after the Eng series he has slowed down.
How should he deal with it?

To use a "dance" analogy...don't luff 2pac used to do ballet...oh well.

he should have served as a "frame" or support for his partner. It takes 2 to tango and most times our players cannot develop partnership and feed off each others' vibes like Sanga-Jaya duo or Dhoni-fill in the blank duo.

So he really shouldn't have gone for that ugly pull. Shamsur was going his merry way, and all he needed to do was give support. His wicket expanded the chink to a crack for bowler to heave open the defense.

He was also the VC. At this stage of his career was that rush of blood to equal Shamsur's frenzy that necessary?

1st hour of the day is very crucial. On top of that, we are playing test after a long time. He just needed to see off the 1st hour and then the whole session. Timing would then come naturally. He was doing alright but rush of blood and some very good fielding led to the demise.

Play like a test batsman. You are no Sehwag and you will never be, and if you don't want to learn, then go play Golf

He should be dropped for 2nd Test. That would be his punishment ! Even Lalla would play much better than him.

Tamim is all talk and no action. Retire from cricket and become a politician as you already meet that requirement!

Sorry couldn't vote here. Not enough options. Nothing less than a 300 to 400 SR for Benson & Hedges. Gotta score a 100 before his kachchi-fueled battery runs out of charge.

Probably needs to be dropped for the 2nd test, so he will score 50's in all of the ODI games.

Allow me to post a few quotes from the article over here, so I can infuriate you guys for fun.

Quote:
"There's no shortage of hunger on my part. I am making mistakes or maybe fate is playing a part in my quest for big scores," Tamim said. "But still I have time in hand. I averaged 42 last year despite not getting to milestones.

"I prefer that to averaging 25 after having scored a double-hundred. But at the end of your career the landmarks count and that's what pleases you. So the next time I get close to a milestone I will be more careful."

..

"When I go on holiday, I feel hungry when I come back after a week. I really feel that a short break from the game is necessary to improve motivation and hunger."

Landmark counts? Seriously? I thought its about what and how you contribute to the teams winning cause counts and people often remember you for that.. Sachin landmark counts because it most often had positive effect on on teams overall objective in winning

As I have said in some of my earlier posts, Tamim and several of our other cricketers lack professionalism. I don't understand why is it really that hard for our players to bat an extra session in the nets, or wake up an hour early to go for a jog/cycling tour.

Instaed of giving advive to younger players, may be he should be the one asking for advice from his younger team mates.

A couple of seasons in Ranji would be helpful for him, your board should try to convince BCCI to let your guys play in our domestic matches.

That would make our friendship stronger.

He always says he wants that hundred and milestones, he just struggled to get there, surprising since he's been in the team so long and also because he says he wants to be better than the up and comers. He's got the talent and is still our best opener.

That is if Ranji would accept our players in the first place.
