Default Fan commits suicide over Brazil’s defeat

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha . Bagerhat

A Brazil fan at a village of Mongla upazila in Bagerhat committed suicide after France's 1-0 win over defending World Cup champions Brazil on Saturday night.
Arun Roy, 18, son of Tarapad Roy of Chila village, took poison after watching Brazil defeated in a World Cup quarterfinal on television, family and the police sources said.
The youth was taken to Mongla hospital where doctors declared him dead. The police sent the body to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Sad Indeed.

We should all remember that while sport is a big part of life,it's not worth life itself. There are a lot more things worth Living for.

This is not the first time, it has happened before in BD during WC. Too much of anything is bad.

A very stupid act to do.

I read of 2 argentinian fans dying through heart attack in Bangladesh, which is understandable even if its tragic

However suicide for a football game??!!!

I doubt any Brazilian has commited suicide after bzil lost

There is nothing stupid about it.
Passion is something that you can not shape within a logical frame of mind.
Passion flows in different ways in different people.
Some people can put the passion in some creative way and other just doesn’t know how to handle it.

There will be more world cup--still the fan find the earth not worth to live in.
There are millions other people to love- still a young chap thinks the world is nothing without the single person he/she loves. Millions of youth sacrifice the best time of life doing something - showing a bold protest against the ruler or just by trying to become a poet.

Passion could be creative, passion could be destructive.
On one side, Great passion drives great works of creation. On the other side, passion takes its toll. That's the same passion that motivates ordinary people do something out of ordinary. Some are lucky and do great; some are not so lucky and perish.

Brazil's defeat was as heartbreaking to me as any other fan, but commiting suicide for that reason is stupidity . Life is not fair, there is no happiness without sadness, no joy of ascendancy without defeat. I cried all night when Brazil lost 8 years ago. I was in tears again when Brazil won the last WC and France departed with shame. Now the sad part of life repeated itself. I feel sometimes we need to lose to realise what we have already achieved. There is always next time..

Well....its a pity he wont live to see Brazil regain the cup in 2010. RIP.

But seriously, had he been Brazilian it would be understandable. But a someone form Mongla dying because a team from South America got booted out from WC is like a puzzle never supposed to fit.

But then again, i felt like killling myself more than kill Franchesco Totti when Australia lost from that horrendous match against Italy.

Very unfortunate and silly act to do.
Fans should learn to keep their emotions under control. It's a game after all ,not a war.
