Miraz bhai, I'd be interested to see what your feelings are after the interview. Will Banglacricket's harshest siddons critic, soften or become angrier? Time will tell...Am looking forward to it...
Me too, can't wait to see what will be Miraz bhai's reaction after the interview. It may be even worse or we may find another person joining pro-siddons club. To enaner, I completely agree with Miraz bhai that it doesn't make any sense posting his profile info and pic here. It is totally irrelevant from this topic and I would also like to request you/mods to delete this post as it has no relation with this thread.

Credit should be given where credit is due. This interview is one of the biggest and most important interview to be published in BC given the kind of polarized views siddons' coaching has created. It would be of more interest because it was taken by someone who is a harsh critic of the man so I am hoping to see some probing questions and cant wait to see siddons' reply. Well done Miraz bhai. This is the coup of all coups in terms of interviews. I only hope you did not go easy on him for the sake of being on good terms with him. I want to see questions like "why the verbal diarrhea infront of the media" , why does it seem to some outsiders/fans that he is demoralizing the team instead of motivating them" "if he has so much doubt about the ability of these cricketers why did he take up the job in the first place" "where does he want to see bangladesh by the end of his two year contract". I know the interview has already taken place but if these questions were not asked then I would request you to try and putting them in the next time. I also want to thank Siddons for agreeing to the interview. This would be making his role and his vision a lot more transparent to the fans here in BC including myself who have been pretty disappointed with the man so far.

Layperson, it wasn't an easy interview. I can assure you will find your questions, albeit a bid modified, in the interview.

I could not include many sensitive issues in the interview, but we had intense discussions on many issues for hours. We had agreements on many issues and strong disagreements on few issues. The interview is finalized only after 5-6 discussions. Moreover, JS had code of conduct bindings. He shared much more than what is included in the interview.

No one is saint, JS has some very good abilities, solid plans and most importantly faith in his plans, and at the same time he has got some notable deficiencies which I tried to hide in the interview as it will do no good to Bangladesh cricket. Having said that, I tried to keep the interview as professional as possible. I hope everyone will enjoy it, be it pro-Siddons members or anti-Siddons members. I am neutral here, at least for now. I think Siddons wil be also happy with the interview.

We all are here to uplift the profile of Bangladesh cricket.

With the ICL news and Miraz's general view of things, I am not sure if this excites me anymore.

Jamie Siddons
'I'm not here to have Bangladesh win a game or two'
It's not about beating the best sides on your day but about building a team that can compete consistently at the highest level, Bangladesh's coach tells Cricinfo

Interview by Khondaker Mirazur Rahman
September 15, 2008
Jamie Siddons took the unenviable job of coaching Bangladesh in December 2007. His predecessor, Dav Whatmore was always going to be a hard act to follow, and Bangladesh's international schedule since - where they mostly played the top teams - didn't help. They may have won just four of their 20 ODIs since, but Siddons has set his sights on the long term. He still expects Bangladesh to be No. 9 at the end of his two-year term, but hopes a few young players will have developed into match-winners by then, helping the side compete, if not win, on a more consistent basis.

This is pretty sad. It's been published on CricInfo before BC.

I smell dhoka here.

Siddons plans a Tiger uprising
Khondaker Mirazur Rahman
Jamie Siddons took charge of Bangladesh after the Tigers' successful runs in the 2007 One Day World and the inaugural Twenty 20 World Cup. In both tourneys, Bangladesh managed to reach the second round for the first time in their cricketing history. Since then times have been leaner. Under Siddon Bangladesh have failed to win an ODI against a major nation on their last 20 attempts. The team's recent lackluster performance in Australia and lack of success in international cricket has led to a storm of criticism from fans and media. In this interview with BanglaCricket editor Khondaker Mirazur Rahman, Jamie addresses his critics: He lays out his plan for a future Bangladesh team, shares his thoughts on the team's "successes" under his tutelage and sheds light on his efforts to change the cricket culture of Bangladesh.

This is the BC edition with more questions and some specific answers for Bangladesh fans

Quote:
BC: what will be your message for the Bangladesh cricket fans?
JS: My message to the fans is that your team train as hard if not harder than any team in the world at the moment, they are the youngest team in the world at the moment, and as such need the time to grow and learn how to cope with the situations they face in international games. Celebrate the successes of each achievement such as a century by your players. And imagine what we will be like when all these young players can be consistent with this kind of performance on a regular basis. Your team will be exciting to watch and competitive more often than ever.

Your coach sees beyond tomorrow and wants long term improvement and success from your players just as much as you do. Continue to support your team now in their development, as you will when they emerge in time as a threat to the game’s best. Look around you, it is not easy to be successful, and it takes time to develop your skills, we need time and your support and patience!
