Yes as far as logistics goes, I think as an absolutely new TV channel, they couldnt pull it off. Unless they partnered with ATN or other channels to do a rev share/tech share. My worry was it was a very tight schedule with chances of spectators fatigue and concentrated in one single location when it needs to be spread across..

At the end, if the people don't turn up for the matches and more tournaments not played outside of Dhaka, the impact will be short term and also long term for BCB and Game On... Also, to avoid Dhaka traffic, congestions, a move to Chittagong or Rajshahi regions would be a good idea. There they leverage more cricket practice grounds and inject money into local economy, spread the fans etc. My 2 cents.

Dhakablues,
You are looking at the big picture and betterment for the game in BD. Our infra structure is not good enough to do so. Plus BCB is looking at the dollar amount. Heck they don't play ODIs or test matches in Khulna, Bogura.

Moving the game or adding another city/venue creates alot of issues.
1) Secuirity for the players, admins, team managements, spectators etc.
2) Traveling in Dhaka city between the Hotels and the stadium is horror enough. Inter-city traveling would kill the international appeal. Those folks would never come back and it would take an extra day to recover from the travel fatigue.

I would like to see...

MT # 22 Barisal Burners vs. Khulna Royal Bengal should be opened by Naimul Vhai ('cause the first one was opened by his fierce rival Zinat Apu)

MT # 25 Barisal Burners vs. Dhaka Gladiators should be opened by Simon Vhai ('cause the first one was opened by his fierce rival fagun-da)

MT # 23 Chittagong Kings vs. Dhaka Gladiators should be opened by i_1_primeval_man Vhai ('cause as far as I know he's a chittagong and Khulna supporter )

Seems like Isam also agrees that the hectic schedule, traffic jam and concentration at Dhaka could be the reason for the poor turnouts and spectators fatigue!!

http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...ry/553957.html

One other thing that I think none mentioned is, due to hectic IPL schedule, players were burned out and were de-motivated to play other serieses. We have players like Shane Harwood, Chris Gayle, Rubel already out of the tournament because of injuries and lack of time to recoup... I hope next time BCB take note of this issue too. And like the World Cup soccer, we don't have to broadcast every single game... or that can be partnered with ATN like other local channels,, just like how US manages the busy NBA, NFL schedules.

Rajshahi with a 5 game winning streak yet they have a negative Net Runrate. Hard to believe. The first two losses were so bad?

today the comms where dicussing. The tournament is too intense so the players are derived from rest. 10-12 matches in just 19 days never does justice to any cricketer's health.
