oh no we've got rangers. it's always a tough match against them as their fans are always up for it and it's seen as a 'Battle of Britain'. Spurs are about to get drawn out of the hat....

we've got err...bursaspor. yeah i know i've never heard of them either, sounds like some turkish team. The Group of Death AC Milan, Real Madrid, Ajax and Auxerre. Auxerre did well in the French league last year, not too sure what position they finished.

very interesting and exciting groupings. though looks a bit easy for Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea. But still there is enough competition in all the groups which is expected as this is the Champions League, the best from Europe. No teams are pushovers here.

though i will miss my team Liverpool (and may be i will miss the in CL next two seasons again unless the ownership problem solves) still as a big football fan i will still see every match that will be available in TV

Two additional assistant referees - goal line assistant referees!
Good Move! Don't wanna see goal like Lampard's anymore!
================================================== ===================

A short video explaining the experiment with additional assistant referees will be shown at stadiums and by broadcasters as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League start.

it was used in EUROPA CUP last season. and was a success. also in some u-23 international games it has also been used

this season it is also going to be used in Champions League.

not only line goal line decisions, also to monitor off the ball player movements in penalty box during corners and freekicks, and closer looks at handballs, fouls and drivings in penalty box.

most of the time referees or linesman are off the pace and cant see things happening in box clearly. thats why these referees will monitor goal line and penalty box incidents

Did anybody watch how Xabi Alonso & Sergio Ramos deliberately opted for RED CARD in the match against AJAX so that they can crucially wipe their yellow card count clean when the competition enters the knockout phase.

It is definitely a cheating, unsporting behaviour and not respecting the spirit of fair play. But such tactics and manipulation of the rules are all now part of the game.
