Default Bangladesh vs New Zealand: Statistical analysis

(Following Stats are for ODIs)

Bangladesh does not have much to talk about against Kewis... We've never went passed 200 mark against NZ in an international match.

Highest total 198/7

Lowest is 77/10 at Sri Lanka (question, are we always that bad in Srilanka?)

Guess who has the most runs, I will give you a clue, he is dropped from this series, yes, it is Mohammad Rafique, 124. Second best, Pilot 123. Third best is 92 by Ash from 6 matches....
Guess how many centuries... wait.. before we get to that how many half centuries? 2... one is by our one and only Eid boy... and other one by Azhar Hossain, incase you are wondering who Azhar hossain is, here is his stats from cricinfo.
Highest Average from the current players is TI and Shakib, in upper twenties from the sole match they played in the recent WC.
Here is something funny... guess who had the most ducks... our one and only HaBa. He played 4 times against them and managed two ducks!!!!
Most runs in a series... 83.. by KM pilot!
Lets go down to bowling... Most wickets.. Rafique (8), Second best, Aftab.. Third best Chacha!!!! Interestingly, our surprise inclusion Nazmul is 4th on the list.
Best bowling in innings... I bet you can't get that right.. it's our very own AA battery! 5/31
Nazmul seconds the list... with 4/40... ahhhh... here is an answer to many of our questions!!!! Best economy by Durjoy... (only if he could be player:selector... ) second is no surprise... Rassel.
Best strike rates by Ashraful!!!! all righttttt... get em tiger!!! lol!!!
As for Mushy.. he has a tough job ahead... Pilot has 7 dismissal while he is running second with ZERO dismissal.
Highest partnership.. pilot and rafique.. 70*!!!

Now, the point I am trying to make here is we should not get all hyped up... lets just hope for the best and be ready for the worst... I'm very optimistic...hoping to break a lot of records this time around!!! (Insha'Allah)

Don't forget about the practice match for the WC. I know it was just a practice match, but all I'm saying is that we still have a chance if they attack from the start. If we can do that, the games in the bag. But if we don't...well...you all saw what happened in the World Cup. I'm just a bit worried though, because based on what little I've heard of training, Siddons is focusing on helping our boys keep their wickets. Sounds like they might just play a bit too defensive...

The way I look at it, we didn't play much against them with our new and "dhoom dharakka" players, well atleast most of them are. Any ways, this means more than you would think. If any two of them even click on a perticular day, and the others just pitch in, we have more chances of winning than we would on any given day of the oldie times!
I think we will inshallah win atleast one game. (If that happens on our first match itself, I think we might even end up winning the series! But lets not get to that just yet... :P)
So ya, good luck tigers! Lots to prove this time around...

Yes you're right. I remember the practice match in which Tamim and Belim went for it straight away and got us off to a good start, chasing a pretty low score (227 I think it was). Anyway the World Cup match in the super 8s proved to be a total bummer. Defense was the key from the beginning, and it proved to be our downfall.

I really hope they are able to go in their and play according to the situation. We've very rarely been able to do so...

Azhar Hossain's the first ever half centurion for Bangladesh in ODI cricket. He is also the uncle of our first ever ODI centurion.

Past stats do not work and cannot be applied to today's situation. What I think might help if we set a goal to make the matches more competitive.
Of the things I hear being done in preparation for NZ series, I like the idea of having batters practice on marble/granite slabs for rising balls from bowling machine.

I still think that we need Rafique in our team as long as he performs. He is a fighting cricketer and still has a lot to give to the team!

What match are you referring to here? If it's the warm up match against New Zealand during the world cup, it wasn't.
