Top 5 Bangladeshi in DPL 2011/2012
I made an analysis with the data of digicricket.marssil.com and extracted out top 5 performers in this DPL with batting and bowling. We might find some interesting insights from it regarding our current pool of players as well as upcoming stars. We should encourage those who did well out there as it is more difficult to concentrate on league rather than international level and consistency out there should be seen as a hunger for success. The top 5 stat is not conclusive because, I set some criterion. e.g. for considering top 5 SR and Average set 20 wickets as a benchmark. If I set it down to 19, the result would have been different. If I can manage some time, I will try to feature the next 5, too. You guys are welcome to do the same. I didn't put a lot of data because, it distracts the major stuffs. Rather I focused on some attributes and additional information to help complement that.
Also, I took the data manually. So, you should cross check and any correction will be highly appreciated.

Mushfiqur is the standout with the bat without a doubt. Im happy that Mahmudullah and Kayes are proving their haters wrong.

Very good analysis for the bowling part! Really wanted to see Arafat Sunny perform for the national team, but guess there are too many spinners already!

Mushy is clearly the stand-out player of the DPL.
He is the MVP.

So true. Hopefully they gain confidence from this and show how good they are on the international stage. They have the potential but they need to utilise it.

In ODIs, IK has not been bad. His bad slump started only with the August 2011 Zimbabwe tour and continued with the home series against WI in October 2011. The one match against Pakistan does not count. Prior to that, he was in fine fettle and perhaps he has worked out his bad form. His issue is his sr but then again - acting as a foil to TI, it may be perfectly fine complementary batting.

i Know..i admire imrul's consistency..regardless of his SR we needed a consistent opener and IK provided one for us..acting foil is fine but his limitations showed once tamim got out, and when he needed to take the team home..one thing he hasn't showed..in a match when imrul is set and scoring runs i can never relax because i know he wont take the team to a good score or home if we are chasing, thats my problem with him actually..
you need to utilizes your 30s 40s to good scores with good SR when you finish your innings..imrul just cant do that..he scores 30s 40s in 70 80 balls which puts unnecessary pressure on Shakib musfik and the lower oder

Ashraful was tremendous with ball. He had the 4th best economy with 3rd best average. I believe, if he played the rest of the matches, he would have been among top 5 wicket takers, too.

I love Kayes. At times he has been the unsung hero of the team. But i know he isnt consistent but he should work towards improving that.

I was thinking of doing the same but I guess I am a little late now
Mushfique was really outstanding this season and he broke 2 very old domestic records as well.Really hope he can continue this form in National level
I have prepared a similar thread but with more detailed stats like 5 wicket hauls,Boundararies hit, fifties and centuries,Fielding stats etc.
Would have posted here but it's a looong one and since the important stats are already posted, just giving the link if anyone is interested: http://bangladeshcricketlive.com/bes...n-dpl-2011-12/

Looks like the admins of the "Cricket Bangladesh" FB page once again lifted from BanglaCricket without attribution. Now they have posted a status on the top 5 DPL performers as compiled by the OP. Of course, anyone could have done this independently - but why top 5.
BUT ... more interestingly ... Fouad spelled Al-Amin as "Al amin" and in their cut and paste haste, they also put "Al amin".
What does it hurt to give credit where credit is due. We are not in competition. We are all Bangladesh Cricket fans and we have the same passion and goals. Why not acknowledge a fellow fan? Of course, this is moot, if the OP is also an admin on the FB page.
ps: I have a screenshot

Bro some pages do it all the time. Not only one particular page, most pages took stuff from our page and website as well.It doesn't hurt if you take the common news, but when someone compiles something on their own and writes something on their own and someone just steals it,it hurts.

I love stats like these! Things to note from these stats:
1) Mushfiq- I was wrong about him, he outscored everyone in bangladesh by a distance at a decent strike rate.
2) I was right about Mahmadullah. He has plenty of talent and outscored everyone but mushy. Give him a decent run in at 3 or 4 please. At least a series and then we can drop the idea if he does bad.
3)Nasir Hossain- proving his consistency
4) Kayes- If we cant find another opener to partner tamim in the next few series, then we need to give this guy a permanent role. He wasnt that bad, he just had a terrible series against Zim last year. Remember that 90 odd he scored against Aus last year at a decent SR?
5)How far down the list is Anamul?
6) Arafat Sunny- Interesting... someone to watch for a while? Please no more razzak for test matches. We need someone better to partner shakib as the 2nd spinner. Elias sunny or this sunny or any sunny will do.
7) Md. Ashraful- More than 20 wickets and one of the best economy rates? WTF

Mushy did awesome and do did Riyad, anamul fell away and didn't do as well as we expected, elias should be given more chances in test matches. what I find interesting is Marshall ayub, great to see him back scoring lots of runs, he was a good prospect 5 years ago then went away but now he's on his way back, add him to list of guys fighting for a middle order spot
