Murad Memorial Cricket Tournament in Phoenix Arizona
I want to share this with you guys.
Mr. Muraduzzaman Murad a phoenix resident was killed at one of his properties just a month ago (the day before Eid-ul-Adha). Two American guys (19 and 20 years of age) set him up by calling him that they want to see one of his rental properties for rent. And they killed him in that empty house and left him there. Police found his body about 14 hours later. He was brutally murdered with knife and a iron rod. The killers took his wallet and car. Police arrested those murderers about a day later when they tried to charge his credit card.
Mr. Murad was a renowned artist from Bangladesh. He graduated from Art college and had many art exhibitions at home and abroad. He was also the editor of "Asian Magazine" published from Phoenix, Arizona. He was a graphic designer, a documentary film-maker, an organizer. He was the president of Bangladeshi Democratic Party caucus in Phoenix.
He left his wife and two kids, one son (13) and a daughter (7).
Anyway, Arizona Tigers, the Bangladeshi cricket team in AZ just started a cricket tournament in memory of Mr. Murad and his contribution toward the Bangladeshi community in AZ. Today Mrs Murad inaugurated the tournament. AZ Tigers announces to organize this Murad Memorial Cricket every year.
All Bangladeshi residents in Phoenix are divided into three teams: East, West and South. Today the East team defeated the south theam by 1 wicket in a highly competitive game.
Hope with this tournament, the cricket will be back in business in AZ. Arizona Tigers used to play in AZ cricket league long time ago. With many interested players from the community this time it is trying for participate the competitive cricket league again soon.
Thanks
