I am happy for Abul. Hope he will do well in next two practice matches (on Jan 9 and 13) to make a strong claim for an ODI return.

Abul is a bum.

Easy pickings for SL and Zim openers.

I hope I am wrong but I don't think he has necessary skill set to be a part of national team.

Should have been Hider or Jayed.

Abul's a decent option. But other two offer more value with the ball.

I am always against bringing back a player who has been dropped from the team for along time.

ok. Misbah ul Haque would have never cracked the Bangladesh team then.

Vernon Philander would have never gotten a second chance after making his debut in 2007

Abul Hasan wants to prove himself
Quote:
Waqar Younis, who was the bowling coach of the Sylhet outfit, worked with the all-rounder from Bangladesh and Abul suggested that it was a big step in his career.

“BPL was a challenge but I was confident that I could hone and develop my skills by working with Waqar bhai. I have especially worked on reverse swing with him and also slower balls.”

“I am confident and the big thing is that I am getting an opportunity to prove myself,” Abul added.

^^ At his pace, yorkers can be treated as full tosses (as often happens in case of Mashrafe)

Hopefully Abul got his pace back. He was capable of 140s before his back injury.

I'm more interested in him being a Mathews type toothless bowler to just bowl 5 overs, and we mainly use him for late order hitting since all of our bowlers (Mash, Rubel, Fizz, Taskin) are genuine #11s. Even Miraz is not suited for batting at #8 in LOI cricket.

For a guy who did exceptionally well with the bat in the under 19 WC, his batting looks like how a number 10-11 would bat.

too much obsession with pace, too little with control and having the proper brain to execute them .
pure raw pace + control: only one bowler i know has been able to achieve that consistently. his name is Dale Steyn.

Champaka is also backing Raju's selection. He thinks Raju improved a lot in last few months.
