Khedira, Plattenhardt, Özil and Hummels are not going to be in the starting line up for Germany.

Germany got lucky with that call. Clearly penalty . Their defense looks suspect specially in counter attack by opposition . Same happened against Mexico . Most of Mexico penetration happened that yhey couldn't finish happened jn counter attack ...

Come on Sweden. Lovely.

Knock them Germans out.

Germany coming into the tournament have been one of the worst teams result wise.

EDIT: They have won the matches coming into WC, but looked a team disorganised.. even when they won.

Speaking of suspect defense in counter ... concedes the goal in counter . Against top teams this will haappen repeatedly . Mexico looked better than they were ..

I am going to watch the second half. Germans have 45 mins plus stoppage time to score one goal, to stay in the tournament, right? You don't get coaches better than Jogi Loew. Let's see what he comes up with.

How awesome it is that when you represent your country, that passion brings out a new level of energy and skillset to the team, especially average teams.

They may not be consistent in the long run, but they put up some amazing display as a team.

Tony Kroos would have received a lot of flack if he hadn't scored the winning goal.

great second half. This is the german team i know. So calm, collected and team work of art. I must admit though referee was a bit lenient on them.. calling everything on sweden towards the end when they had ball possession.

Sweden barely touched the ball in the second half, one hell of a blitzkrieg

last two World champions(Italy and Spain) was out in the 1st round of the following WC. Germany was well on their way to be the 3rd straight one to go out. But Germany showed why they are Germany

Has the USMNT team ever had a match against Australia, I would love to see one. Both teams are relatively equally matched, but I think Australia edges past, since they have won against much more challenging opponents compared to the US. Plus AFC is much harder than CONCACAF
