france is the favorite. but croatia will be their toughest opponent.

I am rooting for Croatia. I have a new appreciation for Modric and Perisic.

Rooting for Croatia because I want a new country as champs. Also, Croatia gained independence in 1991, which would make them the youngest country to win and 2nd smallest (popultion of 4million).

It's the classic Davidric vs Le Goliath

France the favorites...they came into the tournament with good odds of winning the cup.

Mbappé is close to becoming a meme.

Can see the final in peace that Eng is out..Eng's "its coming home" was as cringe worthy as India's 2015 WC "wont give it back"

Yep. It will never come for them until their media stops being so arrogant. They actually started out pretty nicely this time around, hence the good performances, the minute they beat Colombia in penalties, they thought they had won the cup! Rahim would be a perfect fit in Lions kit.

Indian media tends to almost always use the cringe worthy path. They always prefer the maaska markey effect

Croatia gave up after the 85th minute!!!!!

Shame!

You needed two goals to tie and force extra time, but they stopped trying and only resorting to long shots.

Other than that, a great game! Wish Croatia tried till the end.

Well, France was very fortunate to be leading by 2-1 by 1st half.

The first one that Mandžukić headed into his own goal from a free-kick wasn't exactly a foul that a free-kick should have awarded from such a spot.

The penalty, even after VR, awarded to France was a deal-breaker. To me, for a VR, the decision should come from 4th referee instead of the field referee (like in cricket). A field referee runs and sweats for full 90 min, hence it's not the best idea to put him in such situation where he has to take a major decision within seconds. The hand-ball didn't seem intentional while Perišić jumped and tried to defend the incoming ball with his knee.

From that, Croatia really did not recover. Overall, they played better, had more possessions; but couldn't create clear chances. Also, Croatian keeper Subašić was very dim during the whole game. France took the advantage in 2nd half and scored in counter-attacks. All in all, it was an entertaining final.
