Ya I'm pumped. Got a dilemma though. Do I watch the Thunder/Bulls or this match?

SA win the toss and bat first. SA have gone in with a 4 man pace attack.

what a hard quiz http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine...html?edition=1

btw, what a difference it makes from naming someone from your typical "ALAM" to just shifting some letters around for "AMLA"

Amla is a true professional. Simply too good. Kallis lucky to survive the no ball wicket. Other then that he has been doing well.

mark my word, (although I wanted to say this before the test starts but missed out)
this is going to be a huge clash but South Africa will win.

Amla
Kolshi
this is no Indian batting line up which will shake infront of Siddle,Parkinson,Queeny

Crappy bowling and fielding by Aussies on day 1. I now doubt if they can win any match in this series at all. Their batting will definitely crumble in front of strong SA pace attack. Only hope was their bowling but that looks like sub par against top quality batting. South Africans are looking like Australia of old time and Australians are looking like old England. Australia are not getting back at the top so soon despite making all those efforts.

Duminy injured, out of Test, series

JP Duminy, the South Africa batsman, has been ruled out of the rest of the Brisbane Test and faces three to six months out of the game after rupturing an Achilles tendon in his left heel during the post-play warmdown on Friday. He will have surgery on Saturday.

Duminy had played no part in the on-field action during the day, but was doing drills with fitness trainer Rob Walter when he slipped. After going down, he was treated on the field by physiotherapist Brandon Jackson and had to be carried off by bowling coach Allan Donald and Jackson. He was taken for X-rays immediately afterwards, which revealed the injury.

"He was running in the shuttle sprints and heard a pop," Mohammed Moosajee, the South African team manager, said. "The diagnosis of an Achilles' tendon rupture was confirmed by the MRI scan this evening and he will undergo surgery to re-attach the tendon on Saturday morning.
"Injuries of this nature are caused by a sudden contraction against the direction of movement by the calf muscle, as was the case during his sprint. We will only be able to gauge an expected recovery date further down the line, but injuries of this nature have been known to take up to six months before the player can resume playing cricket.
"He is obviously disappointed, but is trying his best to stay positive; he says everything happens for a reason."

Duminy will fly home, and 12th man Faf du Plessis will take up fielding duties for South Africa in his absence. South Africa will name a replacement for Duminy on Monday.

Duminy's injury means that South Africa, who are playing the Brisbane Test without a specialist spinner, are without their favoured part-time spinner too. Graeme Smith would have to bowl himself or Alviro Petersen should the need for a bit of spin arise.

Bad luck for Duminy but I don't thing that will affect South Africa's dominance. They already have a strong top six. His part time spin wouldn't be missed due to fact that pacers will get the job done in their first couple of spells.

Aussies didnt bowl that badly. It was more like good batting for SA. SA were lucky to survive some chances though. Day 2 will be an interesting one. If Australia can get an early wickets in the 1st Session then pressure will be right on SA.

Aussies didn't bowl badly, but they didn't bowl great either. Their bowling clearly lacked tooth - they hardly looked like they were going to bother Amla/Kallis. No penetrative powers whatsoever.

Yeah they werent bowling great either. But their were deliveries that were troubling Amla at one point. Chances should have been taken. But the game can really turn on day 2. Even though its 255/2 some quick wickets can really turn things. South Africa arent on a huge total yet so there is plenty of opportunities for the Aussies to turn the pressure around.

I find it funny Amla always enjoys scoring 100s more than 50s. Funny world we live in.

This test has been very tame thus far! No contest other then BHH getting annoyed at Smithy for fussing too much about the screen. And now it's raining for 3 hrs.

Boring!

This is why sports like cricket and baseball are so damn boring. You cant play in the damn rain!

Let's create rain cricket. I'm sure we have enough nerds here in BC to come up with something and open a league. Lets bend science!
