That is Riyad's style. Pak win in Dhaka (Asia cup) and against India in T20 WC. Both time celeberated and pumped his fists when he scored a boundary almost clinching victory. This time reached a 100 and needed only 2 runs but remained very calm.

Also in 2015 WC, he ran and removed his helmets and celebrated with wide open arms.

Not this time.

I am not comparing apples with oranges. Not comparing him with Tamim. I am comparing a) 2015 WC Riyad, b) Dhaka Asia cup Riyad, c) India t20 WC Riyad with yesterday's Riyad..

That's very true but every player has an individual case, also constructive criticism is fine imo. Riyad until recently has been poor for about two years, add that he's a senior member of the team and very experienced yet a player who has never completely proven himself I think if he has a prolonged poor run it is completely acceptable to question his place in the squad.

Remember it's about the team, that means taking whatever you need to into account to have the best team now but also trying to build the best team for the future.

It's terrific riyad played this knock, it was very special what he and shakib did. The trick is to stick with players long enough to know what they have to offer but not so long that you're wasting time and resources. It's tough with players that are there and there abouts though which is where riyad is at. We know he has the talent so we keep playing him, and he will have his days but you've got to work out whether to stick with that player or invest in someone who might offer more overall and for longer.

At the end of the day it's a profession for these guys, you can't live off potential forever, and if someone with as much or more potential comes along then unless you up your game you are at risk of losing that job.

Players need constructive criticism to get better, of course it needs to come from the coach etc. this is just an online forum, we are not posting on here for the players benefit but there is no reason why we can't discuss these sort of things, we like cricket so we are going to discuss it.
