So Gayle came in for one match only? Thats almost like cheating for the DG. How much did he get paid?

I read some where in the online newslink - $10K for one match. DG offered more for the final match but he has previous commitments with WI cricket board, had to go.

Things like these make bpl look very goli cricket like.... khayp players and what not...

What doesnt make sense is DG had a balanced team, and it was working..... why do this? They always struggle to clear payment and yet keep adding more players on their payroll. Anyone new coming for the final?

10K USD for Chris Gayle is nothing compared to 8K UK Pounds (almost 14K US back in 2010) Dwayne Bravo received for Essex 3 years ago.

I would think the fee would be much higher to get CG down to play one match. He has been struggling with fitness and has been playing non-stop. Plus if you think about it most of the top players in the BPL are receiving more than 10k/match if you break down their salaries over the number of games they are playing.

It would have been really great if the best bpl foreigners played with our bd intl. just like the icl type. this would give our boys a fair practice before sl tour. Not necessarily T20 but they could have played odi or even tests... in my dream

mark my word, there will be one or two more teams for BPL3
Like Kumilla or Moymenshing type

And also credit goes to the DG owners who brought Ian back, and these Dhaka owners are not afraid to gamble, they have the heart to pick players/coaches who r the best in the business.
Let's now hope they have the heart to pay them entirely.

maybe comilla but not mymensingh. Its only 2 hours from Dhaka and won't have much fan support. i don't think tangail, jamalpur, sherpur, kishoreganj will have that greater mmnsingh feeling any more. but our VC Riyad is from mymensingh and i know all this coz its my dadabari , we are only known for kajer bua and rickshawals in dhaka city, but proud of it.

Arrei Mufi bhai, apnar Dada bari Mymensingh-ei naki?? Amar Dada bari holo Kishoreganj-ei. Since returning to Dhaka last year, I actually attended a "Brihottor Mymensingh" cultural programme. As expected, the discussion eventually turned to politics and the demand to establish Mymensingh as a separate division. There's no consensus on it as of yet, as the people from Kishoreganj don't want it and those from Tangail, Narsingdi, etc. do.

We might not be as business-savvy as Noakhailas or Sylhetis but who needs that when we have Nazmul Hossain Papon (The President is from Kishoreganj)

^ It's not India's alone. 50% India, 25% SA and 25% SA. That's why they have 4 Indian teams, 2 SA teams and 2 Aus teams. Rest of the teams get invited to play. As unfair as it maybe, it's still a great tournament to play alongside some big players. I think Dhaka would bring a lot to the table than a team from NZ. We have a much bigger fan base, that alone is a reason for us to get invited. I'm glad Dhaka owners are taking the initiative to go out there and make some move. I don't think Champions League board will go out of their way to invite us, if we approach them and show them what we bring to the table I'm sure we can at least get an invitation to play in the qualifier. It doesn't hurt to try.

So the drama continues. If they can't pay the players properly why even they bought teams. Simply makes our country name bad, in front of other cricketing nations.
