the reason i want to know this is if the margin is not unrealistic then aussies wont be complacent. but if its an unrealistic margin than we may see aussies take the game a bit easy.
may be we have to win by 47+ runs

Let's say Aus scores 160, then BD must score 215~ to kick aussies out. OR chase the target down in 16.4 overs. Also as Aus's score goes higher than 160, the required runs to get Aus out of the tournament will become even more unreal. realistically, BD must win by 45-50 odd runs or chase the score down in 16 overs. I don't see either happening.

last nite i was calculating the win for pakis, i completely forgot aussies cud win 2, this maybe difficult now, quickly david warner, in the nets smash the ball into tait and he'll be injured, but aussies cud be overconfident and give clarke and tait a rest

Why not Kapali? Is he sick/injured or something?
Dhiman is automatic if Mushy is out.

First, we need to address Riad and Mushy, they are not mentally prepared for late order hitting. Shuvo is not fit for t20 at all. Naeem is nothing great, just can hit sixes against Zim thats all.

We need SN, Shamsur Rahman Shuvo, Alok Kapali, Dickens and Nazimuddin to replace those mentioned above

First things first.

Twenty20 is NOT an ODI. It's picnic cricket. There are no favorites or anything because of how well these guys play in ODIs. I won't be surprised if Afghanistan manages to beat Australia in Twenty20. So, BD win against Aussies in a Twenty20 is just normal.

Also, a Twenty20 win against the Aussies should not be taken as seriously. It's JUST a Twenty20 for heaven's sake.

WC 2007 : ZIM bt AUS (didn't advance) and BD bt WI (advanced)
WC 2009 : NED bt ENG (didn't advance) and IRE bt BD (advanced)

So far no real upsets in 2010 except from a ranking perspective where AUS (unseeded) bt. PAK.

The remaining matches with upset chances are:

NZ vs. ZIM, SA vs. AFG, ENG vs. IRE and BD vs. AUS

I'm hoping for an IRE and BD upset here if the 2 upsets are still in the cards

Well, after today, it looks like that rain could be the biggest spoiler. I felt sorry for England and Zimbabwe....

If rain has any part to play, we might end up depending on Tamim pyrotechnics for a few short overs....

D/L method is designed for 50-over cricket. For T20 matches, D/L calculation is producing some lollypop targets for the team batting second. So, if rain is a possibility, Win Toss and Batting Second can be a winning formula. Just look at today's END-WI match. A team chasing 191 got a target of 60 in 6 overs....lollypop target for T20 standard. Even in SL-ZIM match, ZIM actually got a target of 49 in 5 overs...but ZIM was unlucky that they did not know the target that they were chasing since rain affected their game for the second time.

I am so happy that WI beat England today on D/L method.

Oh My God, what is our team and even this cricinfo guys talking about!!
No body ever took the calculator out to check the run rate scenario.
Someone need to alert Bangladesh Cricket Team Management about the run rate situation.
