This is an exciting opportunity for Bangladesh to showcase their talent in front of the world and it starts with a cracking game against India. Whatever happens in the game and subsequent games, let's stand by the team.
We hope to qualify for the quarter finals, and I think we are capable for achieving that. Whatever is the result, let's stand by the team.
Win or lose, we are always with Bangladesh. Let's make this the mantra of the tournament.
Good Luck Bangladesh. Let's start with a bang.

Ja howar tai hoise.... i am not too concerned abt what happened today .
Happy with the batting. Hard to judge the bowling as india tears down any bowling.
For me our real WC starts now. We are done thinking abt india and all the 'sentiments' that came along playing the first match etc etc.
This performance (mostly with the bat) certainly gives the hope for QF/SF.
Watchout eng/sa/wi/ire/ned...... we are so coming for you...... lets ROAR...... Posted via BC Mobile Edition (Android)
What will happen on 19th? The better team will win. There will be heroes and there will be fallen ones.
There will be celebrations and there will be sad/mourning faces. There will be those who will build/enhance their reputations - and those who will be left with their reputations sullied.
But they will all move on to the next game for another day and another opportunity.
That remains equally valid today. I hope the fans will quickly get past their anger and dejection and rally behind their team onto the next game.

Tough match today against a strongest team, but still hope must be kept... Bangladesh v India has been the first match of the tournament and who knows it could also be the last!
I still root for the team but perhaps our Lotus regime needs change ASA WC ends. We've had the same cast of crew struggling with PPs for over a year now. Where's the pipeline of A-team or HP team tours that would identify alternates or provide known prospects such as Shubhagoto or on-the fringe players such as Kapali exposure?
I know we like to blame Jamie but his defensive mindsets notwithstanding, he's working with chicken-crap. Who would one play instead of the Riyadh / Nayeem / Rok troika - guys who pretend they are batsman but have the bat-speed of club-level cricketers? Why do we have a tail that is incapable of wagging - compare a tail of Rafique, Bisya & Mash with Raj, Rubel & Shafi? Why have we not emphasized pace-bowling all-rounders of the Farhad R, Dollar or Sajedul ilk? We spend $30M on opening ceremony but don't give our batters exposure to top-flight attacks for over 6 months - and then coach says we are rusty against good bowlers.
Sigh ... bummed at what Shakib has to deal with. A champion stuck with wannabes. I'm expecting him to pull us through the Associates and set us up for a quarterfinal Inshallah.

Hahahahah! I was actually going to say something like that :P
Whatever happened with India today (even though it hurt), time to put it past us now and remember Shakib's words from the conference the other day "we are not planning to play just the match against india, we plan to play the whole worldcup". So lets get behind the team coz we have some teams to beat as of now.
Win or lose, i am always with the Bangladeshi players. I have complete faith in our players that they will try their hardest to take us to the quarter finals... As long they try hard, I will be proud.
Our bowlers will bounce back for sure, a lack of firepower in the lower order is still a big concern.

..... I can just imagine what it could be if we had our old tail with this new braveheart top order ...... when we will get it all at the same time dimension......

there is no question of standing by the team or not...we are fans we stood by when Canada gave us a beating we still remember, when vaas took our manhood boyhood from us.
we are there, and we will make the QFs.
but we could do better with a simple decision to take PP earlier with set batsman. that falls squarely on Shakib.

The powerplay decision is a tricky one. We do not have confidence in our handling of the power play situation. It's very similar to the way we approach 20-20 games. We try to hit out every delivery and in the process lose few quick wickets. It is a mindset problem. We are simply scared to take powerplay when we are playing well as it may result in losing the set batsmen. It has happened before 10 out of 10 times and it will again happen in future until we can adopt a game plan for the powerplay situation.
