Thumbs up Thank you Akram Khan

We have praised Mushy's captaincy,
we have praised our coach SJ,
we have praised many individuals,
but we haven't praised Akram chachchu.

I read this a while ago :
Quote:
The first time Nasir Hossain was picked for Bangladesh, the then chief selector Akram Khan made an ambitious comment about a newcomer. He said that Nasir's strength was to bat to his team's needs. Hardly anyone believed him, but Akram has been proved right so far over two years of Nasir's career.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...ry/685651.html

I personally think that more than the change of captain or the coach or Shoaib Bukhari or Kaanta, the main reason behind our success is the new recruits who have changed our performance totally.
Nasir,Gazi,Vijay,Zia , Kopa, Mominul all these players have now become regular contributors to our team's success.
And I thank Akram chachu for selecting these players, I don't know if any other selector gave so many new players the opportunity.
Recently we got Al-Amin & Soumya who I hope will be our new heroes.

I also respect the way he reacted when TI was dropped for Asia cup, we saw the results,4 back to back 50s played a vital role to our Asia cup success.

Well done Akram Khan & thank you for your service, thank you for giving us all these new heroes.

Good thread. Almost all the new recruits have clicked and they've been drafted in just at the right time. The timing was sublime from Akram Chachchu. Chachchu for BCB President.

While we are on the topic of bringing in new blood into the team, I think Soumya Sarker's inclusion is a bit premature. He hasn't performed to the level of Mominul, Anamul or Gazi in the domestic and A-team/Academy/U-19tours.

We have a wise group of selectors. Our test and ODI team selection has been good.

But our T20 selection is not yet up to the mark. Ideally, I would have liked to see shabbir instead. Anamul is good in this format but don't see him being picked.

Naeem and Riad aren't the best either. Hope AK reads this

Australian cricket fans all know who the back-room boys are, and curse them by name.

Long may Tigers fans just concentrate on whats happening on the field.

Though it took long time, they are maturing now so do our players...

I do hope people realise that AK is no longer a selector. The most recent squads for the NZ series were chosen by Bashar and Nannu. But yes, Akram Khan, along with the rest of his panel, deserves credit for rewarding performers and doing a good job overall. Although, I believe a lot has to do with the team management being open to trying out new players as well which was perhaps one of the biggest problems during Siddons' tenure as HC. Siddons had a set group of players that he did not want to look beyond and we ended up recycling the same old tried and tested failures. But now whoever is performing is getting an opportunity in the NT.

Nannu was doing in Hajj when the team was announced. NZ tour was AK's last job as chief selector.

Thank you Akram Khan. One of the reasons why he was better than anyone before him was that he and his panel was made up of test cricketers who themselves were successful players and knew the qualities required to be successful. (Although Nannu didnt play test cricket, he surely would have if we got the test status earlier).
