Anamul still not out at 173. Hope he will score the first double century of the season.

So anamul gets his 200, maybe his name being mentioned for the national team squad inspired/motivated him.

Or even the thought of a failing Souyma and Kayes

Anamul plays the spin better than soumya. It's not surprising that he has big scores in the domestic matches.

He is one level above both Souyma and Kayes

Both Tushar and Junaid continuing with their good forms after scoring 1K+ runs each last season.

2016/17 Season Batting Stats
Still can't believe HaBa ignored likes of Anam and Junaid from the A-team!

Anam yes, as he's young, but Junaid has missed the boat.
We need stability in the Test team. Recalling a 30 yo to play for just 3-4 years (if that) is just going to leave a void when that player retires or loses form.
Its also highly unlikely that guys like Nafees, Anam, Junaid have improved their significant technical flaws while out of the national team given we've had no A team tours in the past couple of years, and even when we have, half of them have been against Zimbabwe.
Those players all have limited ceilings, and more to the point are OLD. Anam gets a pass due to his age, but Naeem Islam, Ashraful, Jaharul, Marshall Ayub, Shamsur Rahman, etc have missed the boat, IMO.
We need young players 25 and under who already have the technique and tools to survive as it is. We have a big enough player base to do that.
Guys who are scoring a 1000 runs per year...well the Mosaddeks are already doing that at a far earlier age.
Just my opinion.

This age mentality is so rubbish,Chris Rogers played for a till he was 38. Are the selectors smoking weed, you can't have 20 year olds, playing test. This format is more real men who have experience, unless you have serious talent you should not be near the test side until you are at least 25-27 and scored heavily in domestics and FC.
Players like SN, Junaid,Tushar are in their prime, and they are being ignored for stupid fan favorites such as Soumya who is a hack in all wickets. Players like Soumya wouldn't even make the A teams in national sides.
If being a 30 year old is considered OLD for you. Then I don't know what to say.

Shouldn't this 'age' assessment be done on a case by case basis? Why shouldn't they at least have the chance to prove themselves if they have the requisite fitness, drive and improvement in skills? Many teams strive for a balance of youth and experience.

No wonder we are the worst test side in the world. Our selectors like some of our fans dont get jack **** about this format. The format requires experience! This aint BCS test! People think bringing a 30 year old into the side would derail the stability of the side. 3-4 years? Are you effing kidding me? if a player is performing TODAY, he should be playing TODAY. If a player can serve for 1 year, thats still worth giving him a shot because last time I checked Bangladesh is NOT on a rebuilding phase. They are STILL trying to win odd games. You give 3-4 years to vets, you improve your side in terms of experience and at the same time you give you prospects enough time to prepare. Not doing so, you are wasting experience and you are throwing your new guys under the nuclear strike. Sounds familiar? yea thats Bangladesh cricket for you!

You are 100% correct. Why do we make the same mistakes for the last 17 years?

I wonder if the same translates to other sports that Bangladeshi plays.
