I think once players get to about 32 you do have to be more careful with selections. Part of it depends on domestic quality, back when Australia debuted players in their 30s the domestic quality was such that test cricket wasn't mush more difficult than domestic level in fact some would've said test level was easier. We also had youngsters performing at domestic level ready to take over when someone retired.
Most of the time in most countries that sort of domestic quality does not exist. As you can see these days most teams are constantly replacing players at ODI and test level because the ones coming through don't seem to cut it. Some make it through and have a long career but a lot don't.
Remember most players aren't good enough for international level so it's quite possible to have more failures than successes.

Naeem should be in the test side for SL at home ahead of Riyad if Mosadek is still out. Sabbir won't get dropped it seems one of Haturis favs..

Mighty good figures from 32-year old right arm medium bowler (cricinfo) Delwar Hossain. 6 wickets for 23 runs.

Congrats to Rajshahi on promotion back to Tier 1! Rajshahi's strength was severely depleted few years ago when Rangpur spun away as a separate team. Now, looks like, they are back on their own feet.
Also, congrats to Enamul Jr on the seventh 10-for in his FC career!

Farhad Reza also among the wickets, that Chitagong team couldn't handle the pace

^^ Some of Sylhet and Rajshahi pacers did pretty well on Bogra Stadium in last couple of matches. Chittagong pacers, I guess, are too young to have skills to dominate here.

Honestly, who cares about NCL anymore? Has this tournament produces a single player of International quality who hadn't already dominated Age-Group cricket?
Need some serious changes in our cricket. The current situation is unbearable.

Curiously, BCB left the last round NCL matches pending. I guess they will be used as prep before the SL Test series in January.

Momin gone in single digit, caught behind of an Abul delivery.
Abul so far is the best bowler of the day, bowling alongside AJ Rahi and Ebadat.

Anamul scored his 14th first-class century. He has so far retained his position as the top scorer in this NCL.

Khulna is simply bullying Dhaka.
Hope Mahedi will get his 4th FC century.

Congrats Mahedi on his fourth FC century. His SR is getting close to 100%! Not surprising, given the match is being played on a small BKSP ground a week after BPL.
The 200 runs partnership between Anam-Mahedi is up as well!

Shanto almost got the 200, but nasir 270 not out.

Many of those guys had been sitting around for last couple of months, playing no competitive cricket what so ever. On the other hand, some of the batsmen are prolly in a much more aggressive mood after the BPL.

Was this the best day in terms of run galore in NCL history?
Congrats to all centurians and double centurians!

Nasir should be given a long go in the Test or ODI side. Hathu clearly had him blacklisted but Nasir is no worse than Riyad and has more upside.

I’d give liton, shanto, anamul a long go before nasir. Think this is nasirs 6th FC century, granted it’s a big one but the guys I mentioned (maybe a couple more like naeem etc) have played bigger innings much more frequently and the guys I mentioned aside from naeem are all younger and like nasir have multiple bonus skills like keeping or bowling or captaincy ability.
What was disappointing about nasir was in his most recent matches he looked out of depth with the bat at international level.

I think Hathu had good reasons to backlist Nasir. He is more of a home track bully, that too only against sides with low quality pacers. He is definitely no match for Riyad, who has way better techniques. Even Mosaddek does not look as hapless against pacers.
