Bangladesh Association, Houston have taken the
decision to create awareness, promote and support the
initiative to bring the honorable remains of "Late Bir
Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman" from Masroor
Air Force Base, Pakistan.

The association supports and is fully committed to
this cause and started a massive signature campaign
spearheaded by an online petition.

The target is 10,000 & presently the count is 3300+.

does it really matter beneath the soil/grave for a departed soul whether it's his own or foreign shore.

however, as a nation it does matter to each & everybody if one of the bravest son of the land who sacrificed supremly for the betterment of the people has to be so much away from his cherished land .we really need to be more vocal about this great initiative of honouring /fullfilling his wishes which he so nearly missed.

The Muhaymin-ul- Mu'min is certainly protecting this martyr

the deceased should not be moved...they should always be allowed to rest in peace.

too bad that most people do not realize this.

how would you feel if your body was moved after death.

in Islam it's forbidden to move the body after it has been buried. You must be buried within 24 hours of death according to my understanding.

This is a common thing for autopsies. With current technology you can bring the entire 6X6X8 area and keep him intact.

I heard that one of his kids didn't even get the chance to visit his graveyard.

intriguing, morbid, but nevertheless a very sad story . For the benefit of the living family and to Bangladeshis(i.e the liberation minded ones)- the body needs to come back. As such, it is a noble cause.

Exactly what I thought.

Grave doesn't matter much. We wouldn't respect him more if he was buried in Bangladesh first place. Matiur himself is now above all this nonsense.

oh i dont oppose bringing him back, unless his family has a problem. however, i do think the last para in that email was unnecessary and not well thought of.

lol, How do you know? Are you a dead living among us? If so i need to ask you few more questions

few years back modern science didnot know trees had feelings.

On an another note: 34 years there wouldn't be much of a remain left. So I am not sure what remains they are going to bring back. I say let him rest in peace. If we can donate some money to an orphanage on behalf of him that would be more helpful to his soul.
