Knows his limitations, and bowls wicket to wicket. I am not saying he should be our strike bowler. For example: Malinga, Welagedera, Fernando, Prasad do more damage than Kulasekera. But Kulasekera plays every match-test, ODI, T20 and bowls his full quota very economically. Consistently picks wickets
Rubel is a good bowler but needs to learn to pick up wickets in test matches.

If the BCB wanted to they could develop Nazmul into a Glenn McGrath type bowler.

Mashrafe is certainly a world class bowler.

The 3 pace bowlers of Bangladesh should be Mashrafe --> Rubel --> Nazmul. Its a good combination because Mashrafe is the Jimmy Anderson type bowler, Rubel would provide the speed and aggression and Nazmul would provide the line and length.

I was disappointed to see Ian Pont go, but hoped that Shane Jurgensen would be able to built on the foundation that Ian laid. Unfortunately, I have not seen much improvement in our young bowlers under him. Shafiul might even have regressed some.

I don't think Mash is going to come back to do heavy-duty bowling. Too much risk to his long-term health even with limited load! Nazmul and Rubel should be our two regular pacers in all formats. Mash could replace Rubel in T20/ODI, unless we play 3 pacers. Shafiul could be in the team as needed.

I also think mash should be recruited to be the team's unofficial pace coach. The man has forgotten more about pace bowling than what all the BD national pacers know.

Or another, more interactive, way than to read the script would have been to actually come over to the Chat room

Its not always possible for everyone to join the chatroom. This is the advantage discussion forums have over chatrooms. People can log in any time of the day and still be part of the conversation.

To coach Pont: Shane Jurgensen is here. You can ask him about his findings now.

Shahadat earned his place and deserved to play ahead of Shafiul. Shafiul has been woeful. He just doesnt learn.

So what has done so far?

We have badly missed Rubel Hossain, who was the bowler of the yr for me last yr so. Hope he gets fit and gets back to form before next series. Shafiul turning out to be another Shahdat ar Abul (tbh i don't blame him..he shouldn't be there in the first palace anyway...selestors just pushed him even when he wasn't ready for int cricket...)

He hasn't done anything. It's time to look for a new fast bowling coach. LBW was accurate in his assessment - Jurgensen was, after all, in charge of the pathetic NZ team that lost 0-4 to Bangladesh.

The BCB won't hire Pont, so who else is available?

Yeah, we know our pacers are shite, but that's where a coach is supposed to come in. Pont did a lot more with the same lot. Shane, mate, you just aren't cutting it.

Time for us to look for a new pace bowling coach and some new selectors as well.

Honeymoon period is over for Shame. Under him Mash became crap, Shafiul lost his mojo, Shahadat wants to join Bollywood, Abul (oh dear) is absolutely rubbish.

What worries me most is these bowlers don't even have their basics right. Short balls after short balls and juicy half volley is really frustrating to see that too in T20. No one bothers to bowl at full length. Forget about yorkers. Coach is definitely a factor. And he is definitely failing to educate our bowlers

Our bowling has not improved one iota. The pacers we have are not world beaters, but at the very least we can expect them to maintain line and length. Sorry Jurgensen, your time is up.

Enough with Shane. He must go. He needs a coach for himself. He was let go by NZ and I don't know why he was hired to begin with.

I would bring in Wasim Akram at any cost. Personally I would bring back Pont, although that might not be a reality..

If i am not mistaken SJ and our fielding coach where choices of Stuart Law. Perhaps time to ask RP who he prefers to work with. If you notice the bench, RP is always seated with Saqlain not the other guys.

I was really happy with the effort of our pacers in Asia Cup. Looked like SJ had an impact. But that seemed short lived. We are not expecting miraculous improvements from Mashrafe, Shafiul, etc. At least get to bowl in the zone.Get them to bowl with a plan. Make it a rule, you must bowl in good length 80% of your delivers. There seems to be no rules, no plan, nothing.

Bangladesh pacers are just going out and trying their luck as if they are in a casino. And seems like the guys are not listening. Mushfiq walked up to Shafiul after he got whacked. Probably gave him some advice. Next ball what does he do? Ball another short one, and get hit for 6.

When there are dropped catches, purposely bowling short by the bowlers what can a coach do? I say give Shane a stick and say he has the players parents permission to use on their behind. If Love doesn't do the trick for grown men, some beating the crap out of them ALWAYS work. More over our race only reacts to some good ol fashion A$$ whipping.
