What has happened to Shafiul Islam? it was not long, he was very regular in the team. is he injured?
Shafiul has to be given another go (if he has been dropped due to bad form), cause he cant do any worse than what Shahadat and Abul have done!
I remember that match against England in the 2011 Cricket World Cup at Chittagong, Shafiul Islam bowled superbly using the condition well, swinging it both ways, england struggled against him (did also too at Bristol in 2010 when Bangladesh won their first odi match against England), and he has won the match. Shafiul has he ability to swing the ball. yes he can go for runs, bowl badly at times. so do the rest of the Deshi fast bowlers go for allot runs, bowl badly (some way more than others).

Shafiul is as useless as Rubel/SRK/Robiul. Not Abul though, he's on his own pedestal of uselessness.

kick out shahadat and abul, put rubel on watch and give sajidul, the kamrul's, babu and taskin a try. shahadat has played enough international cricket to know he's not effective at this level. abul has had enough games to know whether he's ready yet where he's failed completely plus has no domestic results backing him, drop him and only recall him if he has a good run in domestics.

as much as people want taskin in the side i'd probably try the others first just so he has a bit more time to grow into his body, get stronger, get more experience etc.

I also thought the same but his last two appearances make me think otherwise.
I don't rate Shafi highly but
against WI he played the 5th match and took 3 wickets at a eco rate of 3.44
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/587475.html

later in that series in the T20I he bowled 4 overs, wicketless but at a eco rate of 6.5 which is decent if you compare to the rest of the bowlers that day.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/587476.html

This shows that he had somewhat improved his game, I would hope to see him soon.

So, what's Syed Rasel's story? Injured forever? Retired? Or is he not good enough?

I just wonder if we can continue with shahadat, then why not Rasel? He has much better line and length, and can bowl as fast as shahadat without grunts.

Looking at the pics #140:

1) Rajib: Mood-marar tale, gobhir chintay mogno a(n)tel nayok.

2) Rubel: Run disi to ki hoise? Tora koto dibi heida bhalabhabe zana ase.

3) Robiul: Teeth have been photoshopped but pourquoi?

5) Sajid: Ektu Soiyod Azmol marka chehara hoise.

SO TRUE. These bowlers do well against top teams. including nazmul hussain, vs sri lanka. However everyone seems to forget them so quickly. plonker bowlers are then given a chance vs zimbabwe (our favourite team) and somehow they never get dropped after that as "we have a winning combination". Then when these plonkers bowl against a good team, we see what they really are. PLONKERS
